I see in the same issue Amiga Power called it the 82nd greatest Amiga game of all time. Not so sure about that. I prefer Revenge myself.

My score plateaus at 230k. I can get there pretty easily but lose all my lives at stage 22.

Just like frikilokooo my top score in that shot isn't valid.

Graham, I think the rules of this game could do with some clarification.

On the first information screen of this game, it says that two players can control two different joysticks. Player one would then control the movement of the camel, while player two would control the shot direction. Reading this and feeling frustrated with the control system (you often move away from enemies by moving to the side of the screen, but then you are firing away from them, and can't adjust the direction of the shot without moving towards them momentarily), I mapped UAE's controls for two joysticks to be controlled via keyboard. This was part of the game's control system so I didn't think anything was wrong with that.

On reflection though, this isn't something that an Amiga user could do, giving a big advantage to emulator users. Should UAE users be allowed to use both joysticks, or just one?

For disclosure, my 239,282 score was using one joystick. I experimented with and without two for a while and cannot remember if either of the two higher scores used dual controls so I would have to retract them both if not allowed.

This is ok i beleive. A real amiga user can easily plug in 2 joysticks and use one in each hand. As you said this is a design feature of the game. This technique has been used before in the comp. (Super Obliteration iirc)

Yes, I'd agree with that. As both Amiga and UAE users can do this, and it is a feature built into the game, then nobody is gaining an unfair advantage here. So if people wish to play with this method, feel free (making sure, of course, that you don't rope in another person to help out ).

Ok thanks.

Some very strange things happen if you press fire on the second joystick. Your character appears to morph into a bad guy, sometimes your weapon changes to one of the letters of 'Llamatron' and the character sometimes rapidly moves in a random direction. I wondered if that was a hyperspace feature to quickly get you out of a tight spot, but more often than not you smash into an enemy and die. I honestly don't know whether these are bugs or just plain weirdness. I suspect weirdness!

Used my Super Obliteration-setup using the Dualshock. It's just like Geometry Wars - only better.
Except for the framerate as long as the level is bloated with sprites.
