SSI game versions
I'd also like to chime in and add that for Curse of the Azure Bonds, at least, there were multiple versions of the game, that progressively had fewer bugs. (I remember specific problems with the Girdle of Dwarvenkind, for example).
Presumably this was the case for other games as well? |

Get pre-installed HD packages of Pool of Darkness & Conflict : Korea from my web site
Hi,
I am about to add two SSI games to my small list (1 item ) of HD-installable repacks. First one is a classic wargame : Conflict : Korea Second one is Pool of Darkness Both can be downloaded in a "ready to play from AmigaOS" format from my french-soon-to-have-an-english-download-pad web site : http://www.netcomet.info/download.php A few remarks : - There was really no challenge since the games were already cracked and the content of the adf immediately available, but if you want to congratulate me, don't hesitate ! - To me, SSI was more famous for their wargames than for their RPGs. - I never played any of their RPGs. Just heard the glorious names : Pool of Radiance, Dark Queen of Krynn long ago. - I was aware of the existence of Dragonlance board game. Was it something like a romanced Ad&D type game ? - Pool of Darkness seems to have the nicest graphics of the series, hope the gameplay is up to par with Radiance. Hi Deleauvive,
there is already a WHDLoad install for Pool of Darkness : http://hol.abime.net/1100 Thanks for Conflict : Korea installed Pool of Darkness has the nicest graphics (along with Dark Queen of Krynn) of the old SSI RPGs. The gameplay and story are good as far as I remember (it's been quite a few years since I played them ). |

IIRC for the case of Hillsfar, they are "buried" in the image disk, but that is easy to work around: you just copy or rename Disk.1 to foo.adf and then insert foo.adf. |

Added pre-installed HD packages of Curse of the Azure Bonds

I just added SSI's Curse of the Azure Bonds to my HD pre-installed repacked games list. You may download it from the above URL . Demon's Winter, on the other hand, doesn't have a quit key, so it does not qualify for a HD repack. |

Definitely different from the board game you mentioned.
The "real" (non-computer) version of War of the Lance was, IIRC, Dragonlance module DL8. The computer conversion came out for C64, IBM and Apple ][. http://www.mobygames.com/game/war-of-the-lance |

The AD&D module DL8 was 'Dragons of War' (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...ragons_modules)
I know that the first series of books by Tracy & Laura Hickman was called War of the Lance, but I really would like to see that board game. I somehow collect (at least the info of) Dragonlance AD&D stuff. So if you stumble over any info about the board game somewhere it would be nice to let me know . |

Have you heard of the board game Glorantha / Hero Quest ? This follower to Runequest can hold his own in the crowded market of fantasy games, considering the somehow rigid gaming system of Ad&D.
The following Amiga game : http://hol.abime.net/698 is based on the Hero Quest license. Glorantha has its weaknesses, most notably some unexploitable not-playing-characters and not so well documented areas, but the good point is that it draws directly from the imagination of it's fan base. I have made a pack of scanned "fanzines" and unofficial add-ons, as usually pm me if you're interested. |

Yes I know Hero Quest. Played it for about half a year regularly with my friends. I have heard it still has a quite active fanbase, but didn't got into it yet. I'll PM you for the scans when I'm back home. Thanks for sharing Deleauvive

Hi artek75,
welcome to EAB and thanks for the offer. You could sell it anyway, AFTER doing some ADF images. I don't need the real game with box and manual, only the disk images. |

Hi Retro-Nerd.
I have a problem with sending disk images of Pools of Darkness (german) to You. The thing is that my amiga does not have internet connection and those disk images after packing have about 1 mb (for every disk) so it is more than i can put on standard floopy disk ( I thought that then I can use floppies from pc and send files from there). Maybe You know another program for packing files - I used standard program from Aminet (I think it was "image2disk") which will be better or maybe there is another way - of course i can send you copies (disks) . Just let me know and sorry for delay Art |
