I would like to second solamnic' request, if some whdload writes has the time and will. Also it would be a nice chance to see finally implemented the fantomatic cheat on battle ("the Gods intervene") that was broken in many versions.
i had finished all the gold box serie without it, but the Dark Queen' one: to endure literally thousands of unmeaningful yet hard battles all throughout the game was too much...

Pools of Darkness is imho the best game of this Forgotten Realms series. It deserves a WHDLoad install. Psygore?

Pools of darkness was really cool ... non-linear play which was rather unusual for SSI games, added a lot to the game. I still have my characters I brought from curse->secret->pools somewhere in my backups ... they were ridiculously powerful as you might guess

I played it 12-13 years ago on my miggy, but didn't solved it completely. Smooth gameplay, nice story.

We need the WHDLoad patch, thankyou.

Are they not simple Amiga DOS Disks, with a manual protection? Maybe a normal ADF is enough.
