"Spellbound" Prototype CD32 Photos!
I purchased the "Spellbound" CD32 prototype board from Carl and Cynthia Sassenrath at AmiWest 2010 this weekend. I wanted to share some photos with you all.
"Spellbound" CD32 Prototype Board and Debug Card There are no other photos or records of this device on any of the CDTV and CD32 wiki pages or history web pages. It works too, and gives a warning "Prototype not for distribution" in a guru error red square when loading discs. Enjoy! |

Thank you for the pictures. But could you please take one of that "Prototype not for distribution" message? What kickstart version does it use? Could you please check? Thanks for sharing. |

Wood-base of the motherboard needs support in the middle to keep straight the motherboard without risk of breaking!
keep the good work.. |

It has been an awesome Amiwest. The highlights have been meeting carl and dale. I think the best for me personally was having pizza with chris huelsbeck. We even had a little concert of his next work in the car outside his house. Very cool. Again a massive thankyou to Jens for setting that up, . |

so those chips are
131072 * 8 High Speed CMOS static RAM - this means each chip has 1048576 bits thus (*4) = 4194304 (4MB) of 32bit RAM Nice! |

Nice Can you try this from the language selection screen? (if they wrote it yet).
Start from language other than English with joystick in port 0 where FWD and REV are the shoulder buttons, not pad directions. FWD,FWD,REV,FWD,FWD,FWD,REV,REV,FWD,FWD,RED FIRE. For a test revision there’s supposed to be more personal messages rather than credits. |

Also, is there any unusual access for a 3 or 4 pin test port on the CD drive?
I’m still looking for where the CD Error counter board connected. |
