WinUAE 4.0.0 black screen with DX9 Picasso Z3

When I select
Miscellaneous > Graphics API: DX9 with Display > RTG: Full-window or windowed. WinUAE4.0.0 freezes or silently quits with a black screen on booting Picasso ZIII (UAE ZIII mode) Workbench, always.
DX9 only works with Display > RTG: fullscreen.

My cfg attached in this msg

EDIT:
No .dmp or other files generated with "WinUAE.exe -log -logflush -scsilog -scsiemulog", except winuaebootlog.txt

I can't duplicate. (and did you test that it does not happen with 3.6.1?)

Soon I have to simply assume that it is something weird on your system if windowed mode does not create any dump files. Same with the CD reset bug which should have created dump file in normal Windows setups.

You really need to confirm it with different PC or someone else needs to duplicate it or I have to simply ignore these.. Sorry.

Or install Visual Studio (community edition is free) and compile winuae and debug it yourself, it is only guaranteed way to see exactly what happens

You said the same for the uaescsi.device bug Maybe I have to send another mini-bootable env… I will investigate.

I said it should have generated dump file. (It did here). So I blame your PC or your Windows config

It does usually generate .dmp, except in these strange cases, my Windows is perfectly maintained without strange things running in bg, broken antivirus, bloatware, not using dangerous CCleaner etc. I usually help others in forums about Windows technical issues… Only HW/SW issues I can think of can be caused by drivers (Nvidia… Realtek…) or Win 10 bugs itself

I don't think it even crashed in this situation. It most likely got confused because "Minimize when focus is lost" gets incorrectly triggered during some mode changes, I think it has always been broken but accidentally it didn't cause anything too major until now..

It crashes silently: the task apparently quits suddenly after you wait 2-3 secs with black screen on boot, but you'll find the crash in Event Viewer (Error 1000):

BTW, there's also a GUI bug: if starting from my cfg you try to change Properties of DH0: switching file (FFS) and clearing SFS filesystem in the gadget below, and press OK… it looks like WinUAE will still keep SFS as the fs for the switched HD file. When you boot it will say Not a DOS Disk.
It works as expected only if you first Remove DH0: and re-add it from scratch.

Updated from beta 15 (which appeared to be running fine) and found that WinUAE silently quits on system boot, every time RTG full-Window is activated. Not tested other modes, but switched from Direct3D 9 to Direct3D 11 and it now boots OK again...

Do you also have "minimize when focus is lost" checked?
