The AIAB website has been updated with the main page and downloads page getting their links fixed.

The downloads page has had a little face lift whilst keeping the same style and theme.

All the r10.5 upto the 2007 release is available from the download page plus a minor update.

Jump in and see.

Initial impressions are good but I'm going to have to go through all of this from top to bottom very thoroughly to be sure everything is correct. The problem is that this project is so old now it can be hard working out what's what. I think the main thing is that the most up to date files are there and that the installation order is correct. What I mean is that it would be nice for new users to be able to use the guide and have the most up to date AiaB. Getting this all together is tricky because it involves an old installer, updated file to be written over and only then for the AiaB WinUAE profile to be run for the very first time. It's perfectly feasible to just use the latest update but it's more of a manual process which invalidates the need for the guide and can be confusing for newcomers.
I'll try to go through things today, it'll be something to do on a Sunday.

Mad angus has just started going through it all. He has said that downloads section was confusing.
I think the most important thing at the moment, is getting site updated and make it easier to understand the downloads to avoid confusion.

Thanks to peter I now have these files which I will upload soon.

Any future windows installer will use Inno setup as i am familiar with that excellent piece of software.

As I am a bit of a documentation freak I will be documenting James' scripts and procedures, but that is for a later date.

I will also be restructuring the site's directory structure as it is awkward to mange in it's current form.

One thing that I love about the ClassicWB is how easy it is to use and run games..

However it is a pain when loading some of the amiga 500 games that run so fast you have to go into an amiga 500 speed mode but then that slows the entire desktop down such as loading folders with tons of other folders.

Would be awesome if AIAB or ClassicWB would automaticaly slow it down when an amiga 500 game is loaded and not touch the desktop

I will add that to the suggestions list, I'll look into it when I'm fully upto speed with AIAB and it's structure.

Hi MadAngus,

Thanks for all your effort to bring AIAB back to life!

Just one niggle:

The link to AIAB r8 Zip archive is broken.

ATM, it's pointing to: http://aiab.ultimateamiga.co.uk/archive/r8/aiab.zip

but it should be: http://aiab.ultimateamiga.co.uk/arch.../aiab-2000.zip

Keep up the good work!

BTW, if you intend to go back further than r8, I have most of the earlier versions back to r4.

MadAngus i was thinking of something else for the Uae control if it's not possible to do my suggestion above, you could also try and look into the uae control whereby

Two extra options in cpu speed

MAXIMUM
A500 ( GAME ONLY )
A500 ( GAME + DESKTOP )

I'll get r8 fixed tonight along with the r10.5 downloads page.

I'll take any files that you have .

Below is a list of missing files. In bold are the ones I really want. Zips, rars and Tar.gz archives can be recreated as long as I have another archive to work from.

Also I can't quite figure out if r10 is the same as r10a, mainly due to the Wayback machine linking r10's to r10a's, got quite confusing.

That could be quite a big package of packages, I'd estimate around 70+MB, would the zone allow that.

To be honest there is such a large amount of work to be done before I could even begin to research the feasibility of what you are asking that you may have to wait quite a while (6 months at least). Rest assured it's noted and will be looked into.

@All
The suggestions I get will be researched in time, but if you don't suggest until after a new version is released you would have to wait for subsequent versions before your suggestion would be implemented.

I have most of the missing files you have listed, plus a few others.

Yes, r10a is quite distinct from r10.

I'll start digging them out and uploading them for you tomorrow.

Don't wory about The Zone, I'm sure it can cope!

Don't mention kick.rom. MadAngus will chop your balls off, eat them then spit them back out and offer em back when he realises his error.

Keep up the good work bud

the r8 link is fixed

The r10.5 files are back with their own downloads page.

r10.6 will be the base version for future development. So use that version so you can tell me of any bugs you find.

AIAB (Amiga In A Box) Font

After searching through over 2000 fonts for an exact match to the AIAB (Amiga In A Box) text graphics font (see attached pic), without success, I have decided to design a complete ttf font based on the text graphics from the site.

However if you recognise this font (exact match), let me know, will save a lot of work.

Cheers.
