How to create game disk from SEUCK
I was wondering how you create a game disk from SEUCK, using WinUAE.
Tried using the 'Make Games Disk' file, but usually gets 3 errors about c:Makedir etc. and then says insert a blank disk and closes. |

I've done that, but as i said, the 'make games disk' application just gets errors.
Says: 'Can't find C:Makedir' and says similar things for 2 other files. I have SEUCK in DF0, The 'Make Games Disk' in DF1, and the blank in DF2. Do I need to boot WB up first? EDIT: Doing it in WB just gets an 'echo' error. Last edited by Dreedo; 29 January 2012 at 18:36. |

Are you sure SEUCK can see DF2?

I have no idea.
The SEUCK disk has my game, the Create Games Disk has the program to create games, and the blank floppy is needed to put the game on. Using the Create Games Disk in DF0 with no other disks gets an error, having them all in as described above returns a different error. Isn't there any documentation for SEUCK? |

What kind of games disk you want to make? SEUCK exports regular executable files, so making a disk would be a matter of just booting that with a startup sequence.

I don't know what kind of games disks there are?
Take it you mean SEUCK exports a single file and you can create a startup sequence which tells it to boot the file when you insert the floppy at the KS screen? SEUCK games are just a bunch of different files with no executable until you export them using the program that returns the error I posted above. :/ |

Start WB. Before starting the tool go to CLI or enter the follwing CLI command via the Workbenchdropdown menu: copy c:echo ram: ...start the tool an look what error comes up next.... ------ or: I looks like that the icon triggers a skript (XICON Window). What´s inside the skript? |

Got this error back. Perhaps something wrong with the WB Disk I'm using?
Unsure how to check the script, under 'information' it just says 'c/xicon' |

There should be a command "echo" in the "c" directory of your WB.
I dont know the exact name of the icon which you are starting. If I am right in guessing that there is a script then on the disk there should be at least two files: NAMEOFTHEICON.info (that is the icon you can see) and NAMEOFTHEICON (without .info)...that is the skript... a plain textfile which you can read e.g. with the tool "ED" from the WB or with the CLI-commands "more" "Type" (have to be in directory "C" to work)...or some third-party stuff like CLI-Mate, or Cygnus-ED or Annotate or whatever. |

No there is no 'echo' command in 'c' on my WB disk, I'll have to find another disk.
Do you think it'll fix my problem if I find a proper WB disk? I was unable to find a script on the disk... |

Maybe. Difficult to say because I don´t know what´s else on your SEUCK-disk and what is missing. If you like to you can put the ADF into the zone or mail the ADF to me and I will have a look this evening r tomorrow

Hmm it's been too long since I used SEUCK, but I never used floppies, I did everything in my hard drive.
I'll try to find some old archive of mine and see how I used to do it... |

I think that there are just missing files on the boot-medium. But without the SEUCK-image itself it´s hard to say what it is exactly.

Mmmm I've gotten the executable etc. all onto a floppy.
The documentation says to insert the SEUCK disk, and then use the 'save everything' button in SEUCK to save the game to a skeleton disk (which I've already created), but I'm not sure how you're supposed to save, because SEUCK can only save to DF0, and it appears as though SEUCK disk has to be inserted in DF0 whilst it's saving. So I'm at a loss here. I loaded up SEUCK with SEUCK disk in DF0, loaded my game, then removed the SEUCK disk and put my skeleton disk in DF0, but attempting to save the data then results in errors, presumably the game isn't loaded into the RAM, and therefore I need the SEUCK disk inserted to save? |

That seems a bit different to the way it works for me.

To the second bit in bold: There is no way to choose what name you want the game to have. The only way to change it, is to go to WB and rename the files manually. And I don't believe there is a way to save it all as one file? |

Anyone got any idea what's going wrong here?
It appears the game making competition has been extended until the end of February, so I have a bit more time to get this fixed. |
