Any experienced with a Toaster 4000?

I picked up a Toaster 4000 system, Amiga and all included recently aside from a standalone A4000. I may keep them both simply to have extra parts for the Toaster system.
I'd like someone with any information on the Toaster to explain to me if the Toaster works with the Amiga's file system or does it bypass the Amiga filesystem for a proprietary one in order to make use of larger hard drives and not have the partition size limitation with earlier Amiga OS versions.

The Video Toaster I always used uses AmigaDOS and no proprietary file systems. It's all standard, developed on and for Amiga.

The reason I ask is that with the file system limitation, just how much can you really do with 4GB of space when you're dealing with broadcast video, which I believe is the old partition limit. I could be mistaken on this, it's been a while.

That I don't know. We always had drives all over the place and we mainly used it for doing titles, editing commercials and on specific scenes from films, not entire broadcast schedules. I can't say as I remember ever having the issue of partition size limit, but that was many years ago. I wasn't aware of the 4gig limit, either. Where is this detailed? When you say old partition limit, what do you mean by 'old'?

The maximum size of a HDD back in the days of 3.1 and below has been 4gb. With 3.5 and 3.9, this has been addressed

Oh.

Well, if it were me, then, I'd just get 3.5 or 3.9. Most apps are upwards compatible. Back in my Toaster days, we thought a gig was a lot...
