Nice work buddy..
Now I have my A570 fully functional ..it makes sense to upgrade it imo.. And the possiblity of adding external scsi intrigues me. Somewhere in my retro pile I have a suitable 25 pin to Centronics lead ...and an external scsi caddy .. The only issue I can see is that the only scsi hard drive I have is an 80 pin 9gb drive ..which I would have to use with an 80 pin to 50 pin adapter..and hope the A500 can handle such a large drive. |

I'm sure help might be more likely ..If you explain the problems you are having ?
When it comes to faulty units ...one size does not fit all.. ?? |

From what I read and understand ..
It does sound like you may have similar issues to what I had .. My first thought is PSU .. If you have a spare PSU ...I'd try that .. The PSU from A600 A1200 and A500 are basically the same as the A570 power supply .. So Try another ...If this solves you problems ..then opening it up and replacing ALL electrolytic capacitors may well help. BUT ..you do this at your own risk. Success will depend on your skill level with a soldering iron ..and basic uderstanding of working with electronics. NEVER attempt repairs to high voltage equipment without disconnection and a good wait period to allow capacitors to discharge. You say you have 2 x A570 with the same problem.. This I find too much of a coincidence ...but IF you use the same power supply for both units ..then that is the common denominator I think. good luck..
