Vertical display sharing of screens, possible?

Is it possible to have two screens side by side vertically as below?

where 0=Screen 0 & 1=Screen 1

I don't seem to be able to get this to work, I appreciate it has to be a multiple of 16px horizontally which is fair enough.
Is this possible or am I wasting my time?
I'm using WinUAE and AmosPro

no.

sorry.

unless you can "fake" it, using Dual Playfield (both screens must be only 8 colours or fewer, and the same resolution)

Why do you actually want to do this?

Laziness really, I want a status panel etc to the left and play area to the right.

Having a different palette on the status screen would have been quite handy, as would a different resolution.

AH well, ya can't have everything

As the above kittens said, you can use sprites to draw the panel.
CodeTapper has an article with an interview of Ronald Pieket Van Weeserik who for the game Rod-Land did exactly that for the score panel on the right side of screen.
The article which mentions that fact and has some images of the game is available at http://www.codetapper.com/amiga/inte...eket-weeserik/.

I believe Cannon Fodder and Sensible Golf also used the same sprite trick but on the left side.

And I suspect Banshee probably does as well since blitting the enormous left side panel would be prohibitive.
