Personal nightmare

I downloaded http://www.whdload.de/games/PersonalNightmare.html to finally install this game on my hard drive since it's a nightmare with 5 disk swaps.

The installer only wants three disks, I though it is a bug as the game I bought from 1989 comes on 5 floppies and it won't install. (it takes the first 3 then stops and the game won't work).

Mmh, looks like an unsupported version. HOL lists only a 3-disk version.

You can download this version here, preinstalled:

I just loaded up the 3 disk version in winuae, it works, but is missing quite a few files from the 5 disk version. (r1.in r2.in r3.in r4.in) etc.
Just to check i wasn't going mad, Tosec has the original 5 disk version listed as well. Horrorsoft must have later released a later reduced three disk version.

Maybe you should send Psygore the disk images of your original version and he supports it too. btw: This TOSEC version looks uncracked.

I checked the 5 disk tosec version. All the files of each disk match exactly the same MD5 checksum as all the files on my original 5 disks. There is no copy protection, (the manual even says to back the game up on 5 disks).
The strange thing is i can find no data on the internet that the 5 disk version of the game even existed. I bought it in 1989, but all the sites with amiga games only list a 3 disk version. The 3 disk version must have some sound and animations removed (it's missing nearly 1MB of additional files.)

Yes, that's strange. But good news about the unprotected TOSEC version. I'm sure Psygore will support this version in the near future.
