installing 3.9 under winUAE.

I was wondering how to install 3.9 using the 3.9 CD. Any help would be appreciated.

My problem is, it only gives me "Upgrade from 3.5" not a Full Install (Ghosted out)

If you have to install direct from CD, you have to boot the system from "Floppy Emergency Disk" as explained by link by Thomas Rapp.

You can also install OS 3.9 from floppy WB 3.0, first install OS 3.5 and then 3.9

That's a long way to go. Install first WB 3.1, then OS3.9. Remember that OS3.9 needs a Kickstart 3.1 to function properly.

No installer on WB 3.1 is incorrect, between imperfections it will show the icons in gray (no colors).

Not if you have created an Emergency-Disk and boot from that one before you install OS3.9 from the CD, one warning - remember to go in the Prefs folder under WB3.1 and turn on all available colors your emulated AmigaOS can show. Remember that there are 2 versions of the AmigaOS3.9 CD, one pink and one red colored, i don't know the difference between those two. I have even a working OS4.1 FE Update 1 running under WinUAE emulation. Follow the guides here at EAB and i am 99,99% sure whiteb that you will have a emulated AmigaOS up and running in no time.

WB 3.1 is not needed, not on a real Amiga and surely not in emulation.

With current WinUAE versions it is much easier to installed 3.9 than before.

Just tick "CDFS automount" and add the emergency-boot directory with "add directory". Click cancel on "no disk in DF0" twice.

Then partition and format your harddrive and install to the empty boot partition.

If you really want to speed up on the CD Amithlon there's a OS 3.9 (BB1) ready to use, just enough unzip content on HD.
