Apollo 1230 jumper settings
I wonder if someone can help me with the jumper settings for an Apollo 1230 accelerator card. I've taken my 1200 back to a bare bones 3.1kickstart and workbench 3.5 but for the life of me, I can't find the right combination. I also have a cdrom installed as a slave from the main IDE controller. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I have previously owned an Apollo 1230 Mk3, so these notes are from the manual to that board. Jumper settings are as follows:
RAM: Open = Fast RAM on board off, Closed = on SCSI: Open = Autoboot of SCSI controller off, Closed = on WAIT: Open = faster access to the Fast RAM, Closed = slower access to the Fast RAM The SCSI autoboot function should be switched off if no SCSI device is connected, or if autoboot is not required. The WAIT jumper adjusts memory timing to best suit access times of SIMMs used. A small performance increase results if memory with higher speed access is used. Correct jumper setting depends on the speed of the onboard clock. If this information is insufficient to fix the problem, it would be very helpful if you could describe the exact problems you are having, as well as additional info about your Amiga configuration. Type/size of SIMM, any CPU commands set in startup-sequence, etc. |
