If you PC is connected to your Amiga with the nullmodem cable you can simply write ADF files to a blank floppy in the Amiga. I have tried it with a stock A500 and (it was a while ago) it worked fine. You don't need lots of memory as the ADF file is written chunk by chunk to the floppy and not stored in memory.

The solution is drag and drop.
see picture. If you want higher transferrate try to reduce the resolution and colordepth in "ScreenMode Prefs" I have got an Amiga 600HD and I can reach 38400 bps while using the lowest ScreenMode settings. Well this method with "Amiga Explorer" is much more slowlier than "ADFSend" because Amiga Explorer do not send the raw disk image data to the amiga. There are controll/checksumm bytes and all is send in packages. ADF Sender Terminal + Transwarp is the best solution. http://homepage.uibk.ac.at/homepage/c725/c72578/amiga/ |

You need to install the amiga side of the program but this is done nearly automatically if you connect the cable turn on your amiga and run the wizard on the pc side.

impossible! If you have original disks or unmodified disks then serial prefs must b there.
Look again. |

Hi, I had copy of my original workbench (original disk is corrupted) without serial prefs, I copied prefs with directory opus (720kb pc disk) and everything is working now (19.200 only, but working ;-) ), thank you all!

Do you think its possible to get speed at least 56k on my A500+ ? (I have 2colour WB) nullmodem is lenght about 1.5m (I think speed of serial ports depends on chipset)
I cant set baud rate @ 115200 in serial prefs, maximum is about 56k as I remember ,how did you do that ? |

You do that by changing the aexplorer tooltype, and also from the windows side

You cannot get above 19200 or perhaps 38400 on an A500. You need a faster processor to get more serial speed. The serial port is unbuffered, so the processor has to do all the work. (Well, it has a buffer of 1 byte). AExplorer does not care about the serial settings. You have to change the tooltypes of the AExplorer icon (click it once and choose Information from the Menu). |

I don't think 38400 is a common option on the PC side, I used 19200 on my PC and Amiga 500 over serial cables and all worked fine with no errors at all.
If you want faster speed use a network card of some type on a different Amiga, Amiga explorer supports TCP/IP transfers. |

You do set the bandwidth from the amiga explorer application on the pc side, no need to change the com settings from somewhere else so 38400 is an option

really interesting question.
Well, Amiga 600HD is able to receive 38400 bps and send 115200 bps. Maybe it could be more than 38400 if everything is in a kind of "super-off-modus"...that means if (parts of) ECS, PAULA etc... are not used while transfer. |
