Maybe when Galahad releases v1.2 he can make it possible to skip most screens to the following:

Anyway, copied yours and this post to his thread for you Dunny
Ahem.... already has that as an option

Hold fire button down on EAB screen and it will skip the entire intro and load from the interlaced box scan screen.

Very nice! Instant buy!

The footage in the videos on youtube show slower gameplay than some of the videos on a Atari ST. Is this on purpose? Is the Atari ST version faster than other versions?

Currently v1.1 of Starquake on Amiga on 68000 is slow. However in the new year it will be optimised and speeded up in v1.2

v1.1 is more a case of "look, it exists and it works" because it was taking too long to finish and other factors were affecting it. On A1200 it plays exactly as it should, so thats what you should use.

Note however, that unless I completely recode the game, it will never be as fast as the ST version because of the way the conversion is handled, theres only so many hours in the day, and life exists to do stuff other than convert age old games from one dead format to another

Actually, it is slow even on accelerated A1200.

When the person took this video, the correct setting were not applied in emulation...

Basically use an A1200 configuration with "Cycle-exact" not ticked

...but as Sir Galahad has mentioned; he's working on v1.2 which should run fine on an A500

This weekend we had an Amiga party.

We didn't manage to run Starquake on any Amiga from floppy. It always crashed after the grayscale picture. Shame we didn't have WHDLoad version

So my A600 itself may not be the problem why the game crashes occasionally at startup.. I’ll wait for the whdload version

Ps Galahad: my manual of my atari st version doesn’t have any reference to the creators of the game

Well we do know that JAS Brooke did the music, and I know for an absolute FACT David McLachlan did the graphics...... because I spoke to him about it

However, no-one can quite remember who programmed it for the ST, David seems to think it was a contracted programmer for the game, not an inhouse one.

It wasn't Stephen Crow either.
