Simple Menu Utility
So here's a request
Could anyone write a simple menu/selector operated via mouse/joystick. Here's a list of features I have in mind: - Opens a custom screen (doesn't have to use system's ModeIDs, just needs to be PAL/NTSC aware). - Can use colour bitmap fonts for list entries and a custom background (or a starfield, copper effect) and set the palette accordingly. - Uses a simple text config file (Label, 'Command to execute'). - Can navigate through menu entries using joystick/mouse (fire/click to choose). - Can scroll through entries if they don't fit on a single screen. - Quits, frees memory and runs the command. Anyone interested in putting something like this together? It would be used in a WHDLoad related project I'm currently working on. It would basically be a copy of those old bootblock menus form the A500 days. I know there are programs that can turn a bootblock to an executable file but most of these bootblock menus need a separate, custom preference program and probably would cause problems on modern machines and the text config file is a must since it would be dynamically generated. I'm sure this kind of utility would be a breeze for a seasoned coder. Anyone interested? Pretty please! |
