Hiliarious DDNI. You are soooo damn funny. Not. My problem with it is that I often view EAB on my smart phone so any embedded videos slowing down the loading of threads will be a major pain the arse.

So your concern isn't really valid. There shouldn't be any slowdowns. Unless you are browsing the board with a Ericsson T68i in WAP mode But then again, that phone won't even load anything |

I think its a good idead to have some vids. But maybe a limitation per post would be a good idea so threads aren't flooded with them.

Why not?
I voted yes. But with IBrowse I would have to go to YT anyway to watch the clips in FFPlay. I think getwideo won't work with embedded YT stuff on EAB. |

Hmmm... I'm not such a fan of video's in theads. I go on YouTube or Vimeo for video's so I can see them full screen. I don't always have time to watch videos when I find them. I usually bookmark them, forget about them and then watch them when I find the bookmark weeks later...
I have voted negatory (no). |

Hum, it looks like RCK did not have the time to implement this feature.
If it is still on the agenda, I would suggest doing it as they do on Ars Technica: - show only a short line indicating the inclusion of a video, which when click, then expands the page to reveal it. This has plenty of advantages: - no slowdown when opening the page since the content is loaded only upon clicking - keeps the thread compact - does not bother people who do not want to see videos I hope we eventually can have it. |

I think its sad this feature isn't enabled - this is 2016 - I appreciate there are some users using some hardcore - old school systems to access EAB - surely these are a minority?
Everyone and their cat has a YouTube channel these days - by not adopting / including this feature - one could see a subtle dis-service is being done. I would say try it - you might like it - if not - then you can refine it so it doesn't erk you so much. Simply things really - have an option on the main board user profile that allows the user to see a link or in-line video and on the mobile portion only a link (which teaches you right for logging in with a Z80 CPU!). Pretty much job done right there. |

Hopefully RCK will bring this on eventually! I think it's a must feature.
It may even be able to be a on/off kinda feature, which users worried or annoyed about it can turn off from their CP (like I turn off signatures) |

EAB will now convert youtube [URL] into one embedded player on modern browser
no time to make it smaller or add one CP option to disable it, sorry. [ Show youtube player ] Last edited by RCK; 05 September 2016 at 09:49. |

Great thing I guess... But some of the threads has lots of Youtube links. My Longplay thread is on of them: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=78380 It almost crashed my browser because of all embedded videos.
