ok. its sort of off topic since it certainly doesnt just "hint" at
drug taking, but is totally in your face. but maybe you havn't all played this? maybe you have. i enjoyed it when i last played it some years ago , although i couldnt help feeling slightly guilty It's not a very "nice" game really..

If you've ever played Final Fantasy 7 you'll notice buckets and buckets of "uplifting" items which can turn you into frogs etc... now that is a bad trip!!!

and the UK government, went mental over WipEout, because they claimed that the E represented a well known drug of the same name... and it could be taken as "Whip E Out", as in hand out the drugs..

mmmmm

---
lets not tread into the amiga demo scene, that was like one huge advert for LSD

---
Wizball had you collecting coloured droplets from the sky, when you got enough the screen flashed, you ended up in outer space, when you came back the world had changed colour.... man, if only that happened in real life

BWAHAHAHA That is one pathetic government move! We see them a-plenty, don't we? Besides, it was Wip3out, with a 3, wasn't it?

WOO! What a game! It's qute hard too, I managed to stay alive for 40 minutes now, getting better
There's one drug that kills me almost instantaneously unless I double-hit :P That happens to me for stealing the drug from the little raver boys and killing them before asking them for directions!

Quite sick!

My little contribution to this thread would be Ishar III. You could buy loads of drugs at local stores and mix great concoctions (sorry "potions") for different physical effects. I never did find the naked women hallucination mix but I'm sure it's there somewhere.

In one part of the game you even have to go searching through the woods for some special mushrooms just for a vital fix!

This game had compulsory drugs for completion!

Well the way you describe it, every power-up can be considered a drug!
In Leisure Suit Larry 3, you could actually chew marijuana leaves when playing as Pattie.. you would die though.

Magic mushroom pills

In some stages of that ancient FPS for PC, Rise of the Triad, you can collect a magic mushroom which will make you bounce for a couple of seconds – this is one of the most sickening effects I have ever experienced in any game.
Also don’t forget Motorhead on Amiga where lead singer Lenny takes some pills and sets his enemies literally on fire. In the same game, in level Three I think, you will also meet stoned hip-hoppers who are rolling with their eyes while waggling on and off the screen. Talking about stereotypes…

I can't remember any name right now, but I am sure there are a lot of race games where you collect an item like a pill or a bottle, and you get high, the car does not respond the way it should, the screen gets hazy or wobble...
