No worries man, you are right, I mean, I made the thread, I am responsible for it!

But to be fair, the thread is in the News section, so an explanation on how to use FlashFloppy shouldn't really go there.
A sticky with that info, however, should be most definitely useful. If I find some time today, I will try to do it. How about that?

I will however update the first thread with links to the latest version of FlashFloppy.

It would be good to put a direct link to the wiki, which is the canonical location for the FlashFloppy docs: https://github.com/keirf/FlashFloppy/wiki

If anything is unclear or missing, users are welcome to send suggestions or fixes, here or via the Facebook group or via the Github issue tracker.

Added it.
Now I'm slowly working on an ultimate guide for FlashFloppy to be stickied here at EAB.

Look forward to it. I'll link to it from the FlashFloppy wiki.

Once you sit down and start writing, there sure is a lot of ground to cover!

Linking from the Wiki is probably not necessary, as I am gathering a lot of info from it. This should just be an extra resource for EAB users.

To be quite fair, your Wiki covers basically all bases, anyone who needs to get a mod done should just visit it now:
https://github.com/keirf/FlashFloppy/wiki

I'm basically repeating all that plus adding words to be more verbose.

Problem with the oled 0.91 display.

I hooked up the oled display and am having issues with it. When i turn on the amiga i can see the red LED on the gotek blink and then go out, i do not see a display on the oled. When i press both buttons on Gotek and turn on the computrer i see the red LED blink, the config loads up and then the red LED comes on and the display works, i can cycle through all image files on the usb stick and providing i dont turn off the amiga i can wake the display up from sleep by pressing up/down. I have tried different goteks, different computers and 2 different OLEDs and i get the same response.

I am using FW Ver FF-v0.9.0a and flashfloppy file selector, any ideas as to what is going on anyone ?

Don't think it is related to your problem, but the FF file selector is not being maintained anymore I think, and you should use the HxC one instead.

Try creating file FF/FF.CFG with the line:
startup-delay=2000

And see if that fixes it. See here for documentation: https://github.com/keirf/FlashFloppy...iguration-file

If it does, you can try reducing the startup delay and see how much initialisation time your OLED displays actually need.

Thanks,

I edited the ff.cfg to 2000 and it works, i tried dropping lower and results were mixed so i will leave it at 2000, (i am a patient guy

Thanks again

Someone else had this exact problem and also needed 2000ms extra delay to reliably bring up the display.

There must be a batch or design of these OLED displays with this issue, I reckon. I've never seen it myself.
