Hi there!
Hey there!
Back in the day, I was a Spectrum enthusiast until I inherited an Amiga 500 from a friend back in '97 (I always seem to turn up to these parties!) I loved the machine and played Syndicate to death - until my A500 died a RAM death in 2003. A few years ago - I went onto eBay and bought an A1200, plain, default config, Kickstart 3.1 ROM chips and a Workbench 3.1 disk set. Then found I'd lost all my games It went unnoticed for a while. Anyway, a few weeks ago, I dug out the amiga, brushed it off and turned it on. Looking plain at it I thought "I should get Syndicate AGA" and rushed off to eBay. An industrial 8GB SSD from Diamond Point International, an IDE-Fix Express from Amigakit, with a 68030/40 accelerator (and Syndicate AGA) later, I realised how much I missed my beloved Amiga. So, I'm setting out to build a setup (don't know whether I'm taking the case route or not yet) that can play all my favorites (Syndicate AGA ) I'm gonna have fun seeing how far I can take this... :-D PS. Hello everybody! |

Hi there TGM and welcome to EAB!
Getting an A500 in 1997 is really a tad late for the party Nice to see you here nonetheless and enjoy your stay |

He already has an A1200. And an SSD, no less. (If it's one of the very early ones, watch out - cell rewrite count has improved exponentially since then so that even a CF card last longer today.)
Dunno how the 030/040 accelerator works, never seen one Which model is it? google for "big book amiga" to browse models. If you don't have kick 3.1, buy it from amigakit.com. But that+WB 3.1+WHDload should be fine. Get latest drivers for accel from amiga.resource.cx, latest SetPatch and Installer from aminet.net and you're good to go. Then goto whdload.de and get the games you want - or get the preinstalled packs from Killergorilla's site (should be a link from whdload.de to there). Oh, and ... HI !!!!!!!!!!!! |
