Booting alternate Kickstart levels in software?
Short of finding an elusive Multistart ROM switcher, is there any way to pre-load older Kickstart ROMs into RAM and have an A2000 come up with that level in use by Amiga OS? It seems at least theoretically possible, considering that accelerator boards like the A1200 Blizzard IV and my GVP 68030/SCSI Zorro card do this with the on-board ROM. Why not from a captured ROM image on disk?
My motivation is to be able to use an AMax ][ Mac emulator board. These will work about 98% under Kickstart 3.1, with one important exception: the keyboard is dead :-). I really don't want to physically swap in the 2.04 Kickstart in order to run the emulator. Any way to get the GVP FastROM code (or something like it) to pickup the 2.04 image and transfer control to it? Steve |

You could build a kickstart switcher. Aminet has at least four sets of plans for them.
