Free to a good home - Imperfect A600

Hi, I have an A600 made of all the left over parts from making one all good upgraded A600 out of three different ones. Since the case especially is in poor condition, I'll offer it for free to anyone who wants to pay the postage. Paypal or I could swap for something interesting posted in return.

I've not packed or weighed it yet but I guess the postage might be around a fiver for the UK. I'll confirm the postage price to whoever wants it.

I'll describe the condition:-

Mainboard is in good condition. I have replaced all the electrolytic caps and the audio opamp chip. 37.300 ROM.

It is a Rev 1 A300 board, which has the following apparent bugs. Will NOT work with an ACA630. The best I ever got was a garbled guru. I see from the news thread about the ACA cards that this is confirmed by Jens.

Accessing the pcmcia disturbs the display on RF and composite. IndivisionECS is fine and I think RGB is OK. This isn't really a problem for using a CF adaptor for file transfer but is pretty annoying if using an SRAM card. I believe it is working perfectly otherwise.

Case and keyboard are pretty bad. The case is nice and retrobrite white but has no screws, several of the screw threads are stripped out and the plastic clips are all broken. (not guilty)

The keyboard has suffered an overdose of retrobrite, the dark grey keys have turned paler than original where they were yellowed, They have an odd permanent inverted shadow on them now. The caps lock key sticks up a bit from the others. (guilty)

The keyboard ribbon had a fault preventing soft reset. I have fixed this by trimming the connector back and scraping back to the metal traces. I doubt this repair is very reliable. Ribbon clip is damaged but works fine.

Please reply to thread or PM if interested or have questions

EDIT: Oops, meant to post this in the main marketplace forum. Mod, please kindly do move if you please thankyou.

So, did this sell or not? If not, I'm interested.

Yeah, I only had one box that would fit and it was way too big, so belt and braces packaging it was.

You're welcome, enjoy.
