Amiga shops

I just updated the Amiga FAQ shops page.

DELETED: IOSpirit - http://amiga.iospirit.de/
IOSpirit left the Amiga market in April 2007 - official statement in English.

DELETED: Schatztruhe/GTI - http://www.schatztruhe.de/
The domain forwards to http://www.english-book-service.com/.
No Amiga related products there at the time I checked (searching for amiga, commodore, ...).
Archive.org last snapshot: Apr 25, 2006
The domain is for sale: http://www.united-domains.de/ (search for domain "schatztruhe")

Every other shop link seems to be okay.

Do you have suggestions to improve the shops page? (different sorting or grouping for example)
Do you know shops not listed on that page? (maybe non-english sites)

You should probably add IOSpirit back to the list and state that they offer support only to registered users of their software (a bit like NewTek does with their Toaster stuff). If you're a regged user you can still login to their site and d/l updates and patches.

From the existing list, I think you can remove Fore-matt and Weird Science as they don't seem to be operating anymore (they don't answer emails anyway) and their websites don't look to have been updated in quite some time.

So new ibrowse will only be available to people who already purchased their product?. They won't allow new customers?

Yes, that's right. I added a note to the link. Thanks for letting me know!

Thanks for the info! I put the link back and added a note.

I added notes to the links and plan to remove the links in a few months if the shops will still be inactive then.

"The future distribution as well as development and support of IBrowse is handled directly by the IBrowse development team."
(see official IOSpirit site)

"IBrowse 2.4 is temporarily unavailable for purchase. Apologies for any inconvenience."
(see official IBrowse site)

Demo and upgrade versions are available there at the download page.

Amiga Future
http://www.amigafuture.de/

Computer Station
http://home.pon.net/amc/mainpg.htm

Insane Software
http://www.insane-software.de/

Just a couple of minor corrections for the existing list:

* Amiga.ca - http://amiga.ca/
The name of the shop is Downtown Amiga (not "Amiga.ca").

* Old software and old computer games - http://www.oldsoftware.com/
The name of the shop is OldSoftware.com (not "Old software and old computer games").

AnimArt
Hardware
Software
Repairs

InfoSerwis
Amiga section

Is this an online shop? (I found no order page)

Thanks ppill!
I think I will add shops without an english navigation after I changed the shops page to be better organized (suggestions welcomed!)

Two questions though:
Is AnimArt an online shop? I found no shopping basket or anything like that.
Is there a free Polish->English automatic translation service available on the net?
(I tried http://www.worldlingo.com/ - but no Polish available)

naaaaa ... sintech games are quite overpriced (and you did not know what you will get. budget version, missing content, condition ? and so one).

try http://www.amigamicro.com
instead.

That's kinda off-topic in this thread.

@moderator: Maybe split this (or merge if one already exists) into a thread about shops that DO still exist?

Yeah, I can't sleep, so I'm bitching.

Edit: Looking back through other posts in this thread (besides the very first few), maybe just rename it.

@eLowar: renaming is a good idea

@mods: could someone please change the title of the thread to "Amiga shops"? I tried it, but I was only able to change the title of the (first) post, not of the thread itself.

Edit:
Wow, that was fast
Thanks for changing, whoever it was!

Added, thanks!
(Note: shop ships worldwide and there is an English navigation)

Added a note to Guru Meditation, because no orders can be processed until the end of 2007 (see official statement in English).
