I like Classic Workbench. It was made to work on Amigas in the first place. It's simpler. Actually works, and offers a lot more variants.

It's even done by someone who actually loves the Amiga, doesn't take cash, doest it for free, and doesn't have an apartment on Cloanto's pocket.

I don't see the point to use amikit on a classic/real amiga.... it crwals on a winuae 2.8GHZ pc, on amiga it would be unusable? :?

You'll be needing a gfx card (and at least an 060)

I doubt it will still be usable on a real amiga! winuae offers the fastest 68k cpu and an rtg card, but still it is very slow IMHO...
Amigaz must have tried it, if I remember correctly, and found it laggy....

Then it would not be 'classic'.

Only classic OS for clasic amiga is ClassicWB.

Easy to setup, yearly update (and every year is final ) and all you need. No stuff to slow down/kill perf.

Most of the stuff can actually be used but AmiStart for example is slow as hell even with transparacy disabled
I use quite alot from the package on one of my Amiga 4000, even the GUI changer Morpheuz works

Bloodwych's ClassicWB beats them all.
AIAB is old, but is still nice too.
