Hello
Just asking again, after release of Road Avenger... Maybe You can "upgrade" Time Gal with RA engine to have AGA version? |

Ok, don't worry. I'm accustomed to waiting. ;-)
The more important is to know that AGA version is in plans. |

I assume that no one will mind if I take out the "mirror" stage functionality? It's kind of a pain to support, doubles the filesize and doesn't really add anything to the game. |

It's for CD fit? Maybe CD version without "mirror", HD version with? I suppose mirroring on-fly is not possible and arcade version have mirroring.

I guess it all sort of adds up - it's a major pain to add and test mirrored levels for relatively little gain, and there's problems that I never quite managed to solve (eg the death sequences are not flipped, so sometimes the image flips when you die during a mirrored stage). Having smaller builds of the game means that it'd be easier to squeeze it on to a disc with Road Avenger as well, also there's the general convenience of having a smaller build (download time as well as taking up less space on a CF card).

I assume there isn't an easy way to programmatically do a mirroring effect during playback?

Ah, to hell with it. I'll add mirrored stages to the AGA version as well. It seems I was never going to be able to fit Road Avenger and TimeGal on the same disc anyway, even without the mirrored stages, so I may as well just make it so the next update of TimeGal has everything the previous version did.
Some random test images: original OCS frames on the left, AGA frames on the right. Certainly reduces image artifacts, particularly in dark areas and across gradients. |

Looks much better. Not only there's much less artifacts but also there is smoother passing between colours.

TEST AGA version has been uploaded. It hasn't been extensively tested at my end yet and I might add one or two further features/fixes from Road Avenger before publishing it officially.
https://mega.nz/#!I6AgWCQa!FWRjV5lzW...hCaUfBBdQvtqpQ Recommended that it's started with no-startup-sequence, the AGA version of Road Avenger sometimes crashed when started from Workbench. Same as with Road Avenger - there'll be no official CD32 support for the AGA version, since there's simply too much data to stream from a 2X Speed CD drive. It will work on a CD32 running from a compact flash card, and there'll also be a CD version available for A1200/A4000 owners equipped with a 4X Speed CD Drive. |

Hello Earok. I seem to remember that you was planning a CD32 version of Dune. Are you still considering it ?
(Fantastic job btw) |

I've prepared version 1.2 for release - I haven't extensively tested them yet but I'd appreciate any bug reports before publishing to the Reimagine site.
The OCS versions have one bug fix (prevent keyboard/mouse interacting with the background) and one new feature (Watch All Scenes mode). AGA versions have both of those plus higher quality HAM8 animations. Like with Road Avenger, there are four options: OCS HDD Version 1.2 https://mega.nz/#!Nzp2CS6Z!tA3-Gne_c...k_39U5Jc9aBo7E OCS-CD32 Disc Version 1.2 (requires 2X Speed CD Drive) https://mega.nz/#!syp2CYDS!fz7fzON5Q...dhcQfDc2kJX7sY AGA HDD Version 1.2 https://mega.nz/#!wrg2WCCY!7nX_dkVLT...YKZm04EsWyRqpY AGA Disc Version 1.2 (requires 4x speed CD Drive) https://mega.nz/#!Jn4iUQCa!sehZuPCfg...PM2W-q9psbRDhs AGA Disc version won't work on a CD32 due to the drive speed, but the AGA HDD version could be installed to a hard drive equipped CD32. HDD versions are recommended to be played from no-startup-sequence mode. |

Thank you earok. Any chance to get Support for the FMV-Module of the CD32?
I would be able to test it for you and convert the Animation-sequences. |

Unfortunately MPEG module support is way outside of my areas of knowledge! Particularly if it's even possible to have hardware sprite overlays on top of an MPEG video display etc.

As I understand it, the MPEG module output is overlayed with the same flags as if you had a genlock with external video plugged in. WinUAE currently supports the FMV module so you could use it for initial testing before handing it over to someone with actual hardware.
