Knights of the Sky,

I worked out how to fly without a manual but had no idea how to complete missions. I knew sometimes you needed to bomb things but I could never complete anything.

I just ended up flying around over into enemy territory and causing havoc then flying back!

1869. I remember people back in the day saying how much it ruled, but I can't seem to get it to do, well, anything really!

I seem to recall beating it back in my a500 days. Amazing game, however my try in the later years led to certain confusion. Much like my populus trials.

I got a game in the bargin bin. For the Amiga, I was the police and was driving around arresting people. I was told to get to an adress but to get there I needed a map. the bargin copy didn't have one. I spent hours driving around trying to make my own map but I never succeeded.

Knights of the Crystallion - collected orbs like heck but never actually found out how to use them, not to mention the business sim part
Drakkhen - loved wandering around, but then?
Midwinter - same here (didn't understand the language )

EDIT: Kult - bought a corruptet floppy back then and didn't play it until recently, but WTF?

Baseball - some friends tried to tell me the rules once while watching it on TV. Didn't get it, but can't say I'm really fussed about it anyway.

Pool Of Radiance on 4 C64 disks, flipped them for the other 4 sides ( 8 disks worth in total ), never had the code wheel, so changed every password to DRAGON

Two disks on the Amiga version, I loved the game and never finished it.

Something about hours wasted.

Captain Blood I never got and any game that required the utmost skill without save points at frequent intervals were turfed.

Dragon's Lair springs to mind, must go off and track down Knucklebusters / Knuckledusters for C64, hated the game play, loved the music.

Captain Blood was confusing, but for some reason I loved it and still do.

In the last year I got given Starlord and even with the manuals it is tricky to play, so it must be impossible to play if you have not read the big thick manuals. It looks like a great game though, reminds me of Dune(The book, not the game or film/s.)

Baseball is easy to understand, for me anyway...

You also had to shoot some of them. And some you just have to avoid.

That one is really a bit different Not the average RPG dungeon crawler for sure. Got there in the end, but you have to spend some time to get into it.

After the initial bite, when you are being chased the secret is not to tap your fire button as fast as possible to run faster, but to tap it only when your arms reach the highest point. That way you will manage to escape from him (and get shot, but that's part of the story).
