OK... so I did a little test.
Im currently using PFS3 file system
I made a new partition with ffs System.
Copied TANX over to the new disk, and now it starts, but all I get is blackscreen.
Maybe the problem is the disk size or the file system?

Snoopdos is complaining about the file "Tanx-Title.dat", but the file is in the drawer.

I'm really at a loss here for suggestions to give you

My .LHA archive works fine here via WinUAE with various installs (which all use FFS) / CPUs / RAM settings as mentioned; and I also just did the procedure detailed.

The Workbench 3.1 install is only 25MB as it was a quick test. The ClassicWB Lite 3.1 install I used is 1000MB.

I made it work just by copying the Tanx drawer from RAM to Hardisk.
Seems this game is picky about the filesystem.

Hmm, It seems like I just solved my problem running it..
I Changed my Cpu in Winuae from 68040 to 68030 like my real A1200 setup

It runs fine from my testdisk with FFS file system 500mb
Its not working with the 6gb PFS3 system...

I always wondered who exactly says that, it's like the narrator of a snooker game that was clipped for the game.

Edwin Charles Ernest Lowe MBE (1 November 1920 – 1 May 2011), known as 'Whispering' Ted Lowe. Famous snooker commentator here in the UK, who also once uttered the immortal lines:

‘And for those of you who are watching in black and white, the pink is next to the green.’
‘A little pale in the face, but then his name is White.’
‘Griffiths has looked at that blue four times now, and it still hasn’t moved.’
‘99 times out of a 1000 he would have potted that ball.’
‘There is, I believe, a time limit for playing a shot. But I think it’s true to say that nobody knows what that limit is.’
