What are the best movie-license games?
On the Amiga the best one has to be Dune 2, any others?

I enjoyed Lethal Weapon and The Addams Family. Was Dune 2 actually a movie licence though or just the book?

Any movie license directly tied to a specific movie will always suck, it's like gravity, being broke and other universal laws.
Games "inspired" by movies otoh can be pretty good. Blade runner 1997, SSI (blade runner) Knights of the old republic (star wars) possible grand theft auto |

if there was a game made from a movie license that wasnt OCEAN it would probly be the better one.

Batman the Movie was really great; a nice mix of platform, racing and logic levels, made with excellent graphics and sound.
The Untouchables was quite enjoyable, too, with very diverse levels (though arguably the C-64 version was better). Robocop 3 was a groundbreaking action game on Amiga with cool vector graphics, FPS parts and driving parts. Though I didn't play it too much, but I think that The Addams Family became a very adictive and likable platform game. And, if you already mentioned Dune 2, I must add that Dune 1 is just as good, with fantastic music and graphics, and perhaps even more faithful to the original movie and book. |

In fact, Robocop 3, the movie, was released a year after the game. It was completed a year before. Funny thing is that by playing the game, you could have been spoiled about the film...
Favorite movie Amiga games for me: -Batman The Movie -Indiana Jones 3 (Adventure) -Addams Family Probably I forget a few but if they come to me I will write them down. If we add PC games there, then the list can be pretty big. |

Some retro classics springs to mind:
Batman [NES] - Action platformer with a hellish level of challenge. Quite nice graphics for its time aswell (it looks and plays well today, aswell). Really nice soundtrack, also. Batman - Return of the Joker [NES] - Action platformer with some of the best graphics ever delivered on the NES. It looks and plays almost if it were a 16-bit game. Offers almost an even nicer soundtrack than its prequel (made by the same one that made the soundtrack to Journey to Silius). The Addams Family [Amiga & Genesis/MegaDrive] - Nice classic platformer with some adventure elements thrown in. Although the Amiga version isn't really as good looking as the Genesis/MegaDrive version I still think it is a nice version. Willow [NES] - Action RPG which even holds some value of interest today. Quite big, interesting graphical concept of the entire 'room' coming alive with motion as soon as monsters are met. If drawing maps is ones thing, this is the game to play... because it is simply a perfect map drawing game. |

Alien 3 wasn't exactly true to the movie though, then again I don't remember Gomez jumping on anyone's head in the Addams Family movie either!
The worst ones I played on the amiga were Nightbreed, Cliffhanger and The Last Action Hero. I'd forgotten about Robocop III, I did enjoy that one actually! |

I agree with Batman the Movie & Robocop III. But i prefer the SNES version for Alien 3, very well programmed.

Batman The Movie, agreed.
Dune 2 is hard to argue for when there is a seperate Dune game... but yeah, D2 is great. Quote:
havent played the game in a long time, but i always thought the Alien Breed saga did a better job of making an "Aliens" (TM) game anyway. i'll probably get some jip about playing the arcade version instead, if i point out that i quite enjoy Robocop the game on the amiga. |
