For me I'd say Spectaculator, although that's not free. It runs fine on Windows 7 (I have 64-bit), and is very easy to use, but with a lot of power too:

http://www.spectaculator.com/

(There is a free 30 day trial if you wany to try it out).

Best trying WorldOfSpectrum.org as they have all the info you'll need.

You know what i do, which may sound mad , I load up Winuae and my Amiga system that has my spectrum pogram that I bought for the Amiga years ago, Spectrum3000 or something like that and play games though that. An emulator on a emulator. but it works perfectly, show how good the emulation is.

ZXLive for Amiga http://aminet.net/package/misc/emu/ZXLive
is very very good. Not the best to run .tzx though.

For Windows I add EmuZWin to the list: ZX Spin and Spectaculator.

It's the only way to go on an Amiga forum

But of course I have the real thing, so no need for emulation

To emulate a Spectrum on an Amiga, ASp would be your best choice.

it is, but it doesn't work on my Windows 7 laptop.

[edit] had to run it as administrator, now it works!

Great stuff

Edit: well, most games (48k) runs at full speed... most 128k games don't ;-) its ok though...

Odd, I have never ever set anything to run as admin and everything works fine.

Comes up with

Failed to set data for "

then
"Access violation at address 005089B7 in module 'ZXSpin.exe'. Read of address 00000124"

which when ok'd is followed by a repeating "Access violation at address 005FF9B6 in module 'ZXSpin.exe'. Read of address 00000124"

Task then has to be killed in Task Manager

if run as administrator none of these messages appear!

zxds on my DS is the best one I've ever used, all multicolor and vsync effects perfect Shame it's harder to get a perfect one for windows, I miss Realspectrum for DOS!

Ive always used either speculator or ZX32, both top quality.

As for ZX Spin, I have similar probs to Coagulus
