Well, I can confirm the heat is the problem with my setup. I still had an old big ventilator on the attic which I pointed straight at the A1200 with the lid off. It was stable for 3 hours. Then I shut my A1200 down before I would catch a cold
Gotta find me some nice cooling equipment... |

Is there a non conductive heat sink I can use over the Indi instead of a fan?

Very interesting thread... As I'm waiting for my Indy to be delivered at least I can see other people resolving the issues I may go through myself. lol

I bit the bullet and put my order in for an MK2, an "amiga one " grey kybrd, and some other goodies. Hopefully, it will arrive in usa in a somewhat timely manner. Congratulations on all the buzz with the MK2 and the extra business. Its nice to see there are still strong dealers like you and Veselia out there. @ To Jens Congratulations on getting this cool project out. I'm sure you guys are working overtime and the software will come soon. |

I just mounted it yesterday, is it really necessary to add a heatsink?
As you can see in the picture i don't have much space left. I'm using a 4:3 Samsung LCD Monitor and when i launch a game the picture isn't centered in the screen and i see only half, does this have to do with the monitor or am i missing something here? |

This depends on the extra hardware you're using. My problem is (probably) caused by my ACA 56mhz in combination with the indy and motherboard-version. You might be lucky, so it's only necessary when you run into problems...

Right... any centering issues and whether you see any image at all with DVI will be addressed with updates. The heat issue manifests itself in corrupt icons on your workbench screen after the system is running for a while. Eventually the corruption is followed by crashes (and in my case a weird looking workbench screen with lines running through it and the clock issue). I'll post some pictures of it later today. I am not sure if such an issue can be resolved with updates as well, or if a fan is necessary... but active cooling does appear to work.
