Windows icons for adf dms and ipf disk images

Not a problem, but this seemed to be the only real WinUAE-related section on EAB.

I've made a few small Windows icons (.ico files of 3 different coloured disks with the Amiga tick on them - nothing terribly fancy) that I have associated the .adf/z .dms and .ipf extensions with. I thought that some of you might be interested in them.

Download the file (only 6kB) from the zone.

Any chance you could show some pics of them? Be nice to see what they look like.

Ok, I've uploaded a thumbnail and moved the zip to the zone.

I use the blue one for adfs (blue is most common disk colour of course), beige for ipfs and the red for dms files.

Excellent! It would be nice if the installable version of WinUAE had the option of intsalling these icons. Perhaps one for HDF files too.

Thx for all your nice comments. Perhaps we could suggest getting some icons added to the WinUAE distro (and perhaps embedded in the main exe), and get the filetypes associated as part of the install. I still need to make one for .hdfs ...

Very nice, I already started using one for my winuae shortcut but I and people with limited space (who isnt?) keep their adfs zipped so it's no use to me in the way you intended I'm afraid. Still they are lovely.

good idea but I should have found that out before collecting all 40000+ of them So won't it work if I simply rename them to adz now?

No, because .adz files are compressed with gzip (not zip).

You can use unzip *.zip ( command line version of infozip, free ) to unzip everything, then you can use gzip -9 *.adf and after that you can rename .adf.gz to .adz ( if you have a basic batch files knowledge it should be easy, or if you have cygwin installed i can tell you how to - i don't know the windows shell very well ).

Hey but then clrmamepro won't recognize them in adzs will it? That would be disasterous.
