Apparently a newly developed, more flexible + powerful "GameBase" type of application.

I'm sure eLowar or Belgarath will be able to elaborate more

Arrow short explanation on GameBase Amiga website now

Greetings and welcome to our shiny new forum.

There is now (as a matter of fact already has been for a few hours ) a short explanation on the GameBase Amiga website in the Introduction section.

Quote:
What is MAGE? MAGE is a new frontend soon to replace GameBase for GameBase Amiga which will consequently become MAGE Amiga.
This is as much information as you'll get for now. More is to be revealed soon (most likely before this month's end).

What does MAGE stand for? Just a guess, probably wrong; Multiple Auditing Game Engine?

but will the files around the current gamebase amiga obsolete? specifically: will the current dat files compiled by you and Belgarath still be used or the new frontend will use a new set or the actual amiga adfs directories?
i ask this because i had just downloaded the current amiga gamebase and still have to use its dats and putting the thing up and running: if things will changes so soon i will excuse myself from the setting and wait for the new thing

Arrow MAGE / GameBase compatability

While details are still secret, this much can be said:
  • The same set of files will be used, they have been determined to be the ideal (available) version of each game after all.
  • Also the files will be usable in the exact same form they're now usable in with GameBase.

So by all means set up and use GameBase Amiga now. Especially since public versions of MAGE are still going to take another while.

Have fun.

Is there a chance to upload the games update Pack for Version 1.1 & 1.2 to or something? I don't like torrent files.

Floppy disk mass host downloads

I have provided mass host downloads in the past and am planning on doing it again. At the moment all files except the Games (but including rare games) and SPS are available for direct download from the GameBase Amiga website and I will not provide large scale SPS downloads anyways (neither torrents nor mass host).

But, yes, there will probably be mass host downloads for the games again.

There's one SPS missing after scanning with the latest dats:

2540_Planetfall_Disk0

The SPS site says Planetfall only has 1 disk, which is already in my SPS directory (2540_Planetfall_Disk1). Is this a save disk/"rare" disk, and can you provide a download?

Hmm, yes that is is one of said boot disks actually (Disk0 files usually are). This should be in an "SPS Fills" pack. I'm not sure how I missed it. I don't have time to look into it in detail right now either, but for the time being, here it is:
REMOVED SPS GAME LINK - BIPPYM

Could you do me a favor and make sure that's the only such disk in this release?
