Changing HD ?

I will be putting a Compact Flash card drive into my 1200 which comes all prepared and ready
to have Workbench installed on it, what would be the best way to copy across my existing spinning
rust drive which is very very old now onto the Flash Card ?

I was thinking of using EasyADF to move the files over, or is there a better
way ?

Mount the Amiga Drive in the PC under WinUAE
copy all, Swap Drive for CF Card and copy back.

Thanks, how about this would it work ?

Leave the Amiga as is, place the prepared CF card in the PCMCIA slot on the Amiga and copy all the files
across to it, that way you do not need to use a PC, would that work ?

It should,
but some filenames allowed on the Amiga
are not on the PC (assuming the CF is FAT)

The CF card I am getting is from Amigakit and the is formatted with the normal FastFileSystem.
ready to have Workbench installed on it, that is why I assume my idea will work.

No need to use a PC at all doing it like that.

Get a PCMCIA adapter, use Giggledisk to generate a mountlist and copy from your still mounted hard drive to the CF card in the PCMCIA slot.

I have the PCMCIA adapter already in and working, just downloaded Giggledisk so when my other parts for the CF drive arrive I will be good to go.

Thank you.
