Screech

Can someone upload Screech to the Zone?

PlanetEmu has demo only... As a matter of a fact, I don't remember if Screech was ever published as a full game?

Skidmarks with GORE I found a copy on one of my old disks

('96) but that was also a 2 level Demo

Would have been excellent!

Could be a game for AGTW.

Maybe somebody can track down the authors? The demo on Aminet is from 1997 so hopefully they have the full version still.

According to some sites on the net the email for Insane Software used to be:

wizzo@connexus.apana.org.au

Doubt it still works but worth a try maybe?

EDIT:

Seems to moved the game over to PC...

http://www.users.on.net/~aheap/

He says he still has the code for it, might still be worth contacting him?

Some screenshots from this nice game (preview ECS version from planetemu.net). Also - excellent title music.

Hmm, same CRC32 as the TOSEC demo and the icon shows 'Screech_Demo'

Yes, I agree. It was described as "Screech AGA V2.34". If it's actually a demo, is it not even an AGA version?

Needs KS 2+, but runs fine with an A600 quickstart Yep, someone should get a punch in the face for that one

Well, at least that should have a different CRC32 to the one in TOSEC. Would be interesting to have a look Mad-Matt

The Amiga guide on the '2.54' disk lists the version up to 'Screech V2.25', so I'd say it's actually that and not 2.54.

No worries prowler Next time just have a quick look in WinUAE

Edit : The 2.51 version is indeed AGA. You need to assign 'screech' to the folder on your HD in order to get it to work...

HI,

For a laugh I was just looking to see if anyone remembered the game I wrote. I do indeed still have the code for both amiga and pc versions. The amiga version is in Blitz Basic so anyone is welcome to the code (I will have to boot up the ole pc to get it!) and figure out the best way to transfer it across.

2.54 is indeed the last version I worked on. The artist Brad moved on to other things in life and track 4 which was the next in the list was basically complete data wise but graphically not there.

I am thinking of redoing the game again for the android 2.1+ platform but after uni finished I didnt have the time to get it done. ironically I wrote the thing twice, once on Amos with 4 cars and then back on blitz for which i should of completed it, but didnt.

Andrew

Welcome to EAB Andrew! It's strange how many authors of old PD and Shareware games end up here after doing a search for their games on the 'net. Seems that most of them are held in high regard by at least somebody.

If you could upload the code that would be great... I would be very interested in seeing how the game is put together

Welcome to EAB Andrew!

Like Graham said, it's always great to see people that made apps, demos or games joining us here on EAB

Enjoy your stay
