I just can't get FIFA to run without floppies mounted. Even after using the HD installer, it asks me for volume fifa_2 whenever I start the game. I tried a couple of different versions with no success.

@earok great! nicely done! Yes VK1 was really hard to steer accelerating with up on joypad...
Yes I have PAL CD32 of course. I don't know, just my luck... Xtreme Racing refuses to work wathever I try. First tried with resets, then I made cd(with your files and than with mine from my old amiga backup cd) like I did for VK2 and still nothing...
Also tried FIFA, HD installed from backup I mentioned and same problem, asks for disk 2...

I just tried a couple of cracked versions of FIFA, I get the error "LOADMOD-ERROR_LOADING" :/ any ideas anyone?

(Edit: I get the same if I run "fifa /h" on the regular version, which is probably what you're supposed to do to load from HD)

You can still play the game if you keep pushing fire it will error a few more times with mod loading errors but you can get to the menu and game.

It seem to have problems loading the mod files from the game, I thought it might be a disc access issue but it I tried it from the RAM: and the same result.

I think maybe some kind of audio conflict when it tries to playback the mod files not sure how the conflict could be resolved? it works if you boot without the cd32 extended rom and freeanim doesn't make a difference.

More ram doesn't change things either, I think the game would need some kind of non whdload patch to fix it as it seems like a strange bug.

Maybe JOTD knows? he did the whdload slave

Ack, I got a little but further after following your suggestion to click through the error messages, but then it gave me "insert fifa_3" after I got through the menus and went to actually play the game :/

It may just be that the versions I were trying weren't fixed to be 100% playable from HD alone, if yours is fully playable is there any chance you can put yours in the zone for me to test for the compilation?

It may be worth asking JOTD if he knows anything about the errors if he's still around.

I've been doing a bit of work on the compilation even though I said I wouldn't for a couple of weeks! This is some of the stuff I've done:

- Super Street Fighter 2, The New Challengers AGA DX! This was a tricky one to get to go in the compilation, the only way I could get it to work is an IF statement right at the top of the startup script that'll boot the game if you hold RED while starting.
- Flashback, uses the "lowmem" slave which should hopefully give it better performance, plus there's a whole menu for every level in the game.
- Microprose Formula 1 GP, it's been on previous compilations but impossible to play without a keyboard because of the copy protections screen. I figured out a workaround for that.
- 4D Sports Driving is pretty much fully playable on the CD32 control, including using forward+reverse for acceleration and break, and you can even edit (but not save) the levels.
- Found a cracked version of Doman that seems to let you play past the copy protection screen.
- Took out Kickstart ROMs, fortunately there's only been a few games so far that I can't get to work at all without them (eg Best of the Best). Some of the games I've been able to get to launch directly without WHDLoad (eg Another World).

I've been looking at Alien Breed 3D II: The Killing Zone. It appears that at least the 2mb version will work (even if extremely choppy) on a CD32, and it even has built in support for the CD32 controller - unfortunately there's two major caveats. One is you still need to type in numbers at the copy protection screen, two is you can't switch to joypad mode unless you press J on the keyboard. Do you think it might be worth putting in a support request for it to see if anyone can come up with a hack?

Does Best of the best require disk A again after disk B has been inserted?

Unsure? The WHDLoad install requires a Kickstart and I couldn't get it to work any other way without WHDLoad so I left it out of this version.

Not sure if this will help but i am making a CD32 adapter that will allow a PC keyboard to be used and also RGB scart, it may allow more users to be able to plug in a keyboard

It could maybe work - use something like Killaga and some kind of switch to swap adf/disk images.

@Boo Boo I may have another look at it when I get the chance, though I've had very little success with running games from ADF images mounted within the Amiga (Rocket Ranger has been the only exception thus far)

@kipper2k have you seen this? http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/...roducts_id=228

Rocket Ranger and few other use there own file system aswell - Best of the best just checks a text file to see what disk its reading - it seems to work if the file is swaped or maybe swap the whole disk.

That does sound awesome. If you release it I'll probably buy one and make a compilation specifically for it

Some feedback (played on real PAL CD32):
XTR: Doesn´t work, hangs after reset and some loading time
Work here: 4D Sports Driving, Joust, Big Run, Marble Madness, Rally Championship, Virtual Karting 2, Worms DC

Thanks Mombasajoe, XTR was working in the previous release (at least for some people some of the time!) I appear to have broken it. Doesn't work on my CD32 though WinUAE loads it when I open the iso with CD32 settings :/

You have forgotten to put the Data file to SSF2 in the data directory.

I didn't forget - the game doesn't appear to work on real CD32 so I took it out. The startup sequence is still set so it'll try to load the game if you hold RED or BLUE (for Intro) when the console starts if you wanted to give it a go.
