Opinions vary.
Three things I would like to comment on, however: 1. The textures are more colorful than the original? I would find it hard to believe that the textures are any different. It's possible that the brightness mode of GZDoom has something to do with how they appear. 2. 3D Floors have been an engine feature for a long, long time. 3. The water surface effect is indeed not possible in GZDoom at this time, because the implementation of fragment shaders is too limited for this. |

Sorry for not checking the thread for a while and necrobumping, I've been a bit busy! I just put out update v0.10 for this with lots of bells and whistles, including difficulty levels and some new graphics and other stuff!

Just did a quick test: Where is the Difficulty level set ? First-Aid/Medi-Packs (Level 1) still Red ? Last edited by Nobby_UK; 12 October 2020 at 16:47. |

Difficulty level should come up as a menu when you press on New Game.
The new pickups should be the default. Go to Options > Project Osiris Options and ensure that Pickups Style is set to Modern Sprites. |

I'm sorry, unfortunately no. The Amiga port of ZDoom is many many versions behind and lacks a lot of the features from modern GZDoom that I'm using to remake the game. It would require me to completely rewrite it and would be missing a lot of the things like the 3D platforms, 3D models, transparent water, and so on. It pretty much wouldn't be worth it really. I'd love to see a modernised AB3D with Amiga compatibility, but it's a bit beyond my abilities I'm afraid!

I changed some positioning for difficulty balance, some pickups and enemies may be in different places now. To get the original HUD, press - to reduce your screensize. + will increase it back again.

Sorry, no plans for The Killing Grounds. Despite being technically impressive, gameplay-wise I wasn't really a big fan of it. I am thinking of doing new maps for Osiris in future though, so maybe some nods to TKG can be in there. Not promising anything yet, just ideas right now.

I'm on map 08 - but I can't defeat the boss, because I'm missing the rocket launcher. I do remember picking it up in an earlier level, but I play Osiris the way it was meant to be played: save the game only between levels. I guess I picked up the rocket launcher during one of the runs where I didn't finish the level - and when I finished the level in a later run, I forgot to pick it up.
I need to go back and find the launcher. Does anybody remember where to find it? I.e. in which level. |
