Question Amiga > PC, but back again?

Hi all,

I know that you can turn Amiga discs into the files to run on WinUAE, but is there any way of changing them back? say you downloaded a game in adf and wanted to play it on your real amiga..........

a) Yes it´s possible
b) Please include your "Thanks, NS" in the UserCP cause it is a direct signature (not allowed here) ....
c) Check the search engine of EAB, there are plenty of threads covering that point of transfer
d) Read the FAQ : http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?threadid=3239

That´s it I guess

Yes it's possible. There are various methods to transfer files from PC to Amiga and they are explained in the tutorials section. Check this thread too:

Below your question you wrote :

Thanks,
NS

This is a direct signature and not allowed here ! If you want to use a signature, put it into your UserCP (like you did with I like my Amiga ) ......

What exactly is the reason not to use a signature here?

Just curious...

The problem would be that some people want to see the signatures, and can go and enable them. But those who'd rather concentrate on the post contents can disable that so they won't get distracted from the actual posts.

Anyway, not every forum takes everything as seriously regarding signatures as this one.
So RCK, it's really a change demanding a decent bit of familarization because 90% of other forums don't care about it. With the years, this habit has been coming into use more and more in the Internet community since I can think, so you cannot switch it off by means of a fictitious ON/OFF switch.

I thought that with time people were more and more accustomed to put their sigs in somewhere else which would automatically display it if needed instead of having to copy/paste with every post.

Well, not every forum has had Marz posting on it, if you recall once he had a siganture that was the entire lyrics from some cRap song, I'm sure if he had done that as a direct signature and you had to scroll past that everytime he posted a message you'd see it from a different point of view.

Marz is gone.
Nevertheless, always writing "please don't use direct signature" in user's posts is no good means of "saying" it. For example, Dino Dini only signs with "Dino", is this SUCH a problem for you all?
For me, it isn't.

Yeh thanks, this has been bugging me. I mean, I sign off just about everything I write with -Dino. I don't even think about it any more.

//RCK: you know it , configure your User Control Panel instead.

rules are rules.

we have put up one system in order to let you centralize your signature & allow other users to switch it on/off, please use it.

We consider that all signatures are spamming, even one little -dino. Your nickname is already written in the left columns of *all* your posts, post-message signature was good during the BBS time, but no more needed with the actual community interface.

When I'm reading one whole discussion thread, I don't want to read each poster signature.

NAK. IMHO, one small name after the text is just beautifying the post and no spamming.
You should replace "We" by "Our forum, unlike 100000 other internet forums". OK, I also follow that rule, but I think it's childish to rave about a single name posted below the text. Signatures and signatures can be a different thing. One line with the name ought to be allowed.
The Brits have a nice idiom for this, they'd say that you seem to have a bee in your bonnet about signatures.
(bonnet = hood, for the US citizens reading this )
