Newsgroup Flood
Amiga ADFs seem to be all the rage nowadays. I guess Amiga, INC has better things to do than patrol the newsgroups and report those who they think are infringing on their copyright.
Alt.Binaries.Emulators.Misc has had a flood of TOSEC v0.19 games, apps, and doc files within the last four days. Great stuff, and worthy of the time to download. |

I agree. I always get caught up in the work-a-day world and forget about usenet, so it's nice to see the APF usenet heads-ups again!

In general, i got some little prb to connect to some good usenet archive (the big one). Cause when I'm connecting to my ISP's news network, I only jump to kind of little european mirror...
Any tips for connecting to the source ? |

Other then paying for a news server like Supernews no. Unfortunately there are fewer free news servers around, if any at all today. The bandwidth cost so much money these days. I think Supernews charges according to how much bandwidth you use, I think they still have two pricing scales according to how much you d/k

I have a list somewhere of commercial usenet providers. For what you get, the cost is well worth it. I'll try to dig up that list when I get home and post the links.

Ant_On_eeer is still at it. (He is the flooder). He is now upping compilations disks.
@TG- If it weren't for Usenet, I would wonder why I had an Internet connection at all. |

I agree with you 100%. I cannot imagine the internet without usenet and frankly don't know how people get by without it, but really, I'm glad they do. It's certainly not for everybody, but it is definitely for leeches. abe.misc is one of the best groups out there for all emulation needs. And I still remember the days when the only thing posted there was a few spam messages a week from sites!

I suppose I would be Ubernerdy if I admitted to everyone I have a piecemeal Celeron PC on my router for the express purpose of sucking at the teet of Usenet.
Or maybe not. |
