CD1200 Prototype where to buy?

Is it possible to buy a CD1200 Prototype model any where? Would it be listed on eBay, there must be some people who have it for example ex-employees at Commodore.

Send a message via ICQ to Predseda
Crappy drive. According to this article it dissalows the Amiga to use an accelerator card!

Doesn't matter the device itself looked quite pretty.

there is another description:

The CD1200-Plug in card for Amiga 1200 included the Akiko chip, and an FPGA to control Akiko, control a Memory SIMM, and processor expansion socket for a Motorola 68030
archive.org hosts the Amiga Format issue #59 with the article on page 24.

Each to their own I suppose.
To me it looks out of place, I prefer the Internal method or the Squirrel.

I don't think that they produced that many. According to the article that Predseda linked to, the protptype was a failure.

Who needs a cd rom when you can use isos images on the Amiga 1200,I use the CD32 emulator on my A1200.

You might be luck to get one of them that don't work, but if its a prototype than its going cost arm and a leg to get it..not for me..get a CD32 instead and connect it to your A1200.

From 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail'

(Kings Voice)"We are looking for a CD1200"
(false French accent)"We already have one"
(Kings Voice)"Can we see it?"
(False French Accent)"NO, but it is very nice"
