quick question, i notice all the 68k executables are all the same size and i can run the 68060 version without any crashes on 68020, is there processor specific stuff in the other executables which isnt a big deal under emulation perhaps?

hmmm... I have to check that again. Maybe I did something stupid. In general, we don't have something really optimised for the 060s for example. Let me have a look. Thank you for letting me know. |

Yeah, this is on me. I have forgotten a flag on compilation, and all the versions are 68000. I will fix it in a new release soon. I am sorry about that. |

Hello everyone. I'd like to listen to your ideas, as I am working on the multiple 'Alt' problem of iGame.
How would you like to see games with the same title represented? Any preference? I am thinking something like: 1869 ECS 1869 ECS [1] 1869 ECS [2] 4D Sports Driving 4D Sports Driving [1] This way the number in the square brackets will not confuse with the game version, and it will not become extensive, as it happens with the repeating "Alt" Any ideas? |

with this latest version my A4000 crashes when I try to add a non-WHDload game and this wasn't the case with the old version? It will let me add the folder and game file but if I go to the properties screen I get an immediate crash.

I am sorry to hear that. Can you give me some more info? 1. Can you share the title of the game and where I can find it? 2. What is the path of the game from which you run it? 3. Which is the old version that is working for you? 4. Do you get a crash when you run it from iGame? |

@ walkeroo
ah my apologies I forgot to shut down my network stack before launching a WHDLoad game and that always messes up my system. Tried today and all fine |

Awesome. Thank you so much for letting me know. There is a way to shutdown the network automatically with scripts, when a game starts. Check WHDLoad documentation of info on it. |

As a feature question: Is there a way to check if a game is AGA and have that automatically displayed? |

But no matter what I will implement there is always a possibility to have duplicate names, even because the user has the same game in multiple places. |

Is there any way to have iGame prevent WHDLoad asking if you want to update to the latest beta slave before running a game when it detects you have an active internet connection without actually having to disable the connection?

@wiz12
This is not asked by iGame but by the WHDLoad itself. Maybe there is a way to disable the check. Please have a look at WHDLoad manual. |

Hi,
I thought I would share my findings on trying to get iGame to show the slave icons rather than snapshots. On a clean(ish) WB 3.1 install I wasn't seeing the slave icons in iGame, just the default iGame IFF picture. It may be common knowledge already, but after a lot of messing about I found (at least for WB3.1), you need to have an ICON datatype installed for the images to be shown. I prerequisite is to have PeterK's most excellent icon library already correctly installed. I only found a 2 obvious icon datatypes on AmiNet, this is the one I have used, the other, for whatever reason failed to work. http://aminet.net/util/dtype/IconDT402.lha When you have installed the datatype test with MultiView, you will see it gives a lot text info about the icon as well as the actual image itself, this wouldn't be great to see in iGame. To just display the icon image, create the following text file, SYS:Prefs/Env-Archive/Datatypes/icon.prefs and add the following, NOTPOSITION NOTSELECTED NOTUNUSED NOTTYPE NOTDEFTOOL NOTTOOLTYPE NOTTOOLWINDOW NOTSTACKSIZE NOTDATE NOTFLAGS NOTSIZE NOTCOMMENT NOTFILENAME NOTPOSITION was a head scratcher, this is not mentioned in the documentation, but needed to fully remove all text... Copy the saved file to RAM:ENV/Datatypes and test another icon file in Multiview, if all has gone correctly you should now just see the image of the icon. Now when you start iGame, browsing your installed WHDLoad games you should see the slave icons displayed. On a clean(ish) OS 3.2.1 install I didn't need the icon datatype. While I'm here I would to thank all the devs on here who continue to support our platform, I find it amazing and humbling that after all these years we still have a supported and updated platform !! Regards, |

Thank you so much for sharing all this information. It is certainly useful for having it here. I am glad iGame works for you. |

Hi all,
I use custom WHDLoad scripts into game tooltypes and I'm facing an issue where iGame is not able to parse some of them. i.e. ExecutePostDisk=Execute S:SomeScript --> game does launch from WB and tooltype gets correctly read --> this is correct WHDLoad behavior --> game doesn't launch from iGame ExecutePostDisk="Execute S:SomeScript" --> game does launch from WB but tooltype gets ignored --> game does launch from iGame but tooltype gets ignored I just opened a new issue on iGame GitHub for it https://github.com/MrZammler/iGame/issues/181 Last edited by TuKo; 18 January 2023 at 11:49. |
