James Pond 2: Robocod AGA WHDLoad problem

OK I own the original game and installed it to WHDLoad on my A1200 (o3o/50) Game runs but I am unable to start the game! It seems the joystick button is not working. The game runs and loops a demo. Joystick works on anything else. (When I boot the disk it works with joystick) I also downloaded a warez version and it does the same thing! I also downloaded the ECS version and that works fine! Any ideas?

the protection is still triggered or you need tooltypes in the launching icon.

Hmmm...

From what I recall this worked fine and I installed it recently.

Although the ECS version throws out resload_control errors.

I have it installed and on my server I just can't remember the exact name of the file so can't link to it

you can also have an unsupported version, it can be possible too....

because if i remember if protection is not correctly oblitered, the joystick controls are upside down......

N3krobumP!

Seems the CD32 controller is the problem. Tried it just now with a regular joystick, and the game works! lol

Hmmm...maybe this is why super streetfighter by gametek was a problem for me. The buttons would not work. Its some old dirty and cheap assed joypad I have.

True, noticed this ages ago and forgot about it. Yes, normal Joystick works fine.

This problem is fixed slave since WHDLoad slave update v2.0. The CD32 fire button works fine now for the AGA disk version.

The WHDownload page is highly outdated. Get it the AGA v2.0 here.

When encountering a problem with a pre-installed package, always check at the source (whdload website: http://www.whdload.de/)

Code:
*** AGA version ***

v2.0 (11-april-2018) done by JOTD:
 - completely rewritten
 - needs Kick40068.A1200/Kick40068.A4000 file in devs:kickstarts
 - No need to press any key, screen fades automatically at manual protection screen
 - Fixed issue #0002364: fire button not working when using a CD32 joypad
(was because of wrong OSEmu handling of joypad, my fault, since I wrote that code a looong time ago)
 - updated/redone installer script
And if problem persists with latest slave, submit a mantis issue: http://mantis.whdload.de like the one which allowed me to fix it: http://mantis.whdload.de/view.php?id=0002364
