Deliplayer on the PC will tell you what tracker program was used, you'll need to open the window "Information page" as it'll be closed by default

I can't guarantee that it'll show which tracker program was used for every mod file, as I'm not entirely sure if every tracker program embedded it into the mod, or if it was manually added by the creator.
But glad I could help |

Deliplayer did the job, strange thing is, i loaded a pro-tracker module into sound-tracker, but after saving it's still a pro-tracker module.......

Perhaps it's because it holds onto the original information as that would have been loaded into it and the boxes would have already been populated, so no need to add info, a newly created tune would probably have it's own defaults added.

this song started in st and finished in pt, so no extra features of PT where used, so i was thinking why st loads and plays the mod fine, but a st playroutine can't |

@chip: I think you'll find that Deliplayer is more straightforward than AMP's DOS program
@jarre: If you're using one of the other skins of Deliplayer, other than the System, it'll show you the tracker program that was used on the "play Panel" under the songname |

Same as other Amiga multi format mod player. Try them all and you will see if it fits your need.
