Controls:
<HELP> equals <PageDown> for WinUAE users. You need this to save the game (only at the allowed landmarks). |

It was a difficult choice how to score this game but we decided to go with the Landmarks idea again. This time, you can save here using the in-game save.

Considering the "beast" used for playing (aspire one), can I play the OCS version instead of the AGA one ?

Aspire One has 1.6 GHz. The AGA version should run well on an older WinUAE version. Just don't use cycle exact emulation.

Yes, but... A1200 games are all jerky with this netbook (some more than others). Using 4.0.1.
Just to give you an idea : with Exile, one second (in game, top right of the screen) is 3 seconds for the Windows' clock. Better results with "Approximate A500/1200 or cycle exact" as with "fastest possible" everything is dissociated in the background, nothing moves together (trees, mountains, etc.) and it's more slower I think. Anyway, will play the AGA and do my best to score |

You should try again with WinUAE 2.5.0...

For now, after playing it a bit, will pass my turn due to AGA emulation with this netbook : too slow, too much inertia in the movements and, as soon as the hero touches a wall, I feel like I'm trying to steer a pinball ball that is in the bumpers.
(but will for sure play the OCS version from time to time on my spare time as it is much more playable ). For this 10th round, will concentrate on EftPotRM. |

This game is way more difficult to get into than I thought. Don't have the time to play it adequately these days so here's just a token score from me:
1,291 |

Updated scoring system (thx to Loki and lifeschool) to reward progression:
Landmark number * 100,000 + in-game score Example for my score: I've reached no landmark yet and my in-game score was 1,291. Thus my new score is: 0*100,000 + 1,291 = 1,291 |

I've never come across this game before but it looks great so I'll have a dabble today. One question - why are we allowed to save in this game, but not in any other game we've ever played?

Try it and you'll understand.
It's just too long and obscurely complicated. And you can easily render the whole game impossible to beat by dropping items somewhere where you can't get them back. At least deaths are (almost) meaningless. Last edited by john4p; 26 August 2019 at 10:19. |

The game looks and feels bigger than it is, and is quite easy if you know the route. But constantly re-trying when you get stuck means players have to rely on saves or it becomes no fun. It can take an hour each play between saves, so its a 14 hour game basically. We dont normally need to use saves but rather than limit the game to a time limit, we decided to open it up, and use the saves as a feature.
With Indy 500 you could save the progress you made with your car setup, and continue the setup from there you left off. |

Happy Fish 7 x 100,000 + 31,841 = 731,841
I think this game is impossible to complete without solution, at least in AGA version. Whoever finished this game without any help, I say hat down. |

736,094 Having to hit stuff off-screen turned this version of a great game into a failure. Glad this round is over soon. |

On the last day rexsu manages to topple lifeschool and takes his 23rd GOLD medal. He now has a comfortable 13 points-lead in the league which should be enough to secure his 4th championship title (when he continues to deliver such scores as in this double round).
Dan gets SILVER and I BRONZE. Due to one more Lemoner showing up for this game they get the win for the team battle. They also win Escape from the Planet of the Robot Monsters and thus it's close again: we're only leading 7-6 overall now. EXILE (AGA) also manages to beat out Alien Breed 2, Dogs of War and Escape from the Planet of the Robot Monsters for the title of least played game ever: only 7 players posted a score! It's now in our Hall of Fame. Congratz! |

Some simple actions are sometimes ridiculously difficult.
This morning I made a hundred attempts to drop the cannon by opening the door with the button without ever succeeding In addition, we do not see the door open in the AGA version when we are under the button (even by re-centering the screen). The worst comes next, to pass the player through this door is even harder. As if that were not enough, robots (sometimes 3 at the same time) constantly come to harm you so that you lose all your energy and concentration. The author of the longplay took almost 15 minutes to get out of this place, crazy! So imagine in AGA version ... [ Show youtube player ] There are many interesting things (graphics, physics, atmosphere) but some puzzles are far-fetched. And then the handling, some situations are so frustrating, so annoying, so unfair that it's impossible for me to say that it's a good game I booked all my saturday to play the game (no time before) and I thought I could complete it sunday morning but I finally gave up. I underestimated the extent of the task and the difficulty of the game |
