Fury of the Furries HD
Anyone else got this version? I'd like to play the game again from the hard drive copy I have, and only got round to testing it tonight... to find out it doesn't work.
I've ditched all my floppies now so really don't want to have to write 4 disks back from ADFs. I don't remember where I got this version from, but it's not WHDLoad, looks like the game was DOS anyway and files have been copied from all disks. The "Go" icon runs a "Fury2:" assign before running "Fury" - however things aren't right from the start, since this appears to be a project and Workbench claims it's not executable. I can correct it back to a tool with Iconedit, where it then runs (until reboot, bizarrely). I get a black screen and that's it. I did a search on EAB for the issue, and noticed someone else had experienced this with the floppy version, and that lack of chip ram was the cause. Just to let you know, I tried this after a clean boot straight into AmigaDOS, so my issue isn't lack of chipram. System: A1200/10mb/030. Wouldn't need degrading would it? Edit: Have uploaded it to the zone for reference. Last edited by Echo; 18 March 2003 at 00:37. |

It's hard to say. Back when the game came out, I downloaded a HD version from some BBS and it is still installed on my A2000/030 ECS machine where it has always worked for me flawlessly. I'll dig up that copy when I get home (assuming it's on my PC) and up it to the Zone for ya.

Thanks TG, I'll also try degrading my chipset to ECS in the early startup control.
Something's definately not right with the executable though, it won't launch half the time as previously mentioned. |

OK, I just looked and it seems I have burned all of my HD games to CD. I have to be at work again in 6 hours, so I'm gonna crash after I finish this beer. I have a short day at work Wednesday, so I'll find the CD with the game afterwards and up it fer ya.

Two things I excel in are 1) procrastination and 2) being late. I managed both here. But lo and behold, it's in the Zone.

Yay, it works
Might I recommend you alter the assign in "Go" TG. It's badly done, but I'm not sure if this was the official distribution so I'm not blaming you or anything The contents of 'Go' should read: Assign Fury2: "" Run fury Works a charm, without degrading too. Time to get back to that funkeh moosic ... |

Awesome! Glad it works on your system, too. That's the version exactly as it was distributed by whomever did the fix, so the version on my HD may be altered, but the LHA file is the way I got it.
What a killer game, too. |
