that's a pity thing
one might only use the option "unlimited time" (no liquid rising) and then give it a try - guess it's still challenging enough |

BTW, a guy who made maps for Obitus was able to beat my Amiga version without trainers. He was playing the SNES version for the longest time until I introduced him to WinUAE.

The Melnok crack is a 100% proper crack with trainer, although based on an NTSC version. Someone needs to add this to TOSEC (if it hasn't already) so it can be known that there is a 100% crack out there.

judging by the EAB server the melnok crack is included in tosec already. there is also two versions of disk 1.
Killing Game Show, The (1990)(Psygnosis)(Disk 1 of 2)(Intro)[cr Melnok][t +4 Melnok].zip and Killing Game Show, The (1990)(Psygnosis)(Disk 1 of 2)(Intro)[cr Melnok][f Galahad][t +4 Melnok].zip i gather the best one to use would be the one which has been fixed by Galahad? it dob't say what was fixed but i gather Galahad fixed something due to the tag. |

Did you ever find disks for SPS, Galahad? I just checked eBay and someone's got the PAL version, disks only, for 5 GBP.

Hi guys, i opened the thread about this one a few years ago. A quick summury for the ones who missed it or forgot :
- "Flashtro" version : The disc 1 isn't cracket yet, and that's a pity in my humble opinion. The disc 2 has been properly cracked on my request : The music plays at a proper speed in PAL, and the doll liquid rises at proper speed too. - "Skidrow" version : The avaible cracked discs 1 and 2 are faulty : The intro/menu/ingame musics play too slowly in PAL, and the doll liquid rises too fast. - "Melnok" version : The initial cracked disc 1 is faulty : The music plays too slowly in PAL. More over, the tune is totally f***** up by the disc requester routine that toggles the sound filter endlessly. As he mentionned above, Galahad fixed the music speed but the toggling filter problem remains unsolved. The initial disc 2 is faulty : The menu/ingame musics plays too slowly in PAL. However, the doll liquid rises at a proper speed. So, in conclusion, one of the following stuff should be done to have a full working set : A/ A cracked "Flashtro" disc 1. B/ Fix the "Skidrow" disc 1 : if one byte is needed to change the music speed in this version, then it is an immediate way since there is no sound filter toggling trouble in this crack ! C/ Disable the sound filter toggling in the "Melnok" version. I vote for B/ if the "Flashtro" disc 2 is fully standalone (is the disc 1 needed when you finish the game ?). Galahad, could you take 5 minutes to see if modifying one byte is also possible for the "Skidrow" disc 1 ? Last edited by Vollldo; 25 August 2016 at 23:23. |

A little late to the party with this one...
I've always used these disks: a) Killing Game Show, The (1990)(Psygnosis)(Disk 1 of 2)(Intro)[cr SKR][t +5 SKR].adf [CRC: 3AFA9E0E] b) Killing Game Show, The (1990)(Psygnosis)(Disk 2 of 2)[cr SKR][t +5 SKR][bootable].adf [CRC: 554D647B] I haven't played the game long enough to notice the water rising too fast but judging from what's been written... Also, can you not use the following set and all good? a) Killing Game Show, The (1990)(Psygnosis)(Disk 1 of 2)(Intro)[cr SKR][t +5 SKR].adf [CRC: 3AFA9E0E] b) Killing Game Show, The (1990)(Psygnosis)(Disk 2 of 2)[cr Melnok][t +4 Melnok][bootable].adf [CRC: 4423A1BD] ...I guess the complete "Melnok" set is NTSC so my above question is mute? Would be cool to have a 100% working cracked / trained / PAL version but it seems there's still no .IPF to provide to coders |

@Vollldo
Also, I'm not sure what you mean about "sound filter toggling"; the complete Melnok set (with Galahad fix) seems good to me and I always use PAL? Tried "Music" or "Sound FX"... Can you elaborate? |
