Dune + Speech
Does anyone think it is possible to add the speech from the PC DOS version to the Whdload Version?
I'd love to play this game with speech on the Amiga. |

If you enjoy SDL, there is an AGA port of OpenDUNE http://aminet.net/package/game/strat/OpenDUNE_AGA

Ah, I didn't realise that someone would play some other Dune than Dune II, so I didn't even notice that there was no II there. Sorry! Carry on. :-D

I don't know why Cryo's Dune needs to be snobbed like that, it's quite a good and unique game. With an epic soundtrack.
Well they kind of did it again with Lost Eden, but Dune has the better gameplay of the two. |

Yup, Dune is an awesome experience. And somehow feels more than just a game. It is an interactive epic.
Perhaps this is also the reason why some people are quick to dismiss it. You can't really pinpoint its genre. Nor easily explain what's it all about. It has so many different elements , and they all work perfectly somehow. |

I played and finished Dune on DOS, but I don't remember speech in the game.

I was not much of an Amiga gamer, so many discussions here are difficult to relate to. :-) |

Such a good game. I don't particularly like strategy games but really got into this back in the day although, if I remember correctly, I didn't finish it as there was a bug that crashed it? Obviously talking about the Amiga version. This thread makes me want to go back and play it and I also agree that having the voices with the original Amiga version would be such a good touch.

Darn, if someone is going to do this means i have to start on the remaining songs of the full mod soundtrack, do someone have a sample for the synth used on Chani's Eyes? I used to have it but now my amiga hard drive is 15,000 Km away

Dune was an amazing game, and I think I prefer the pesudo 3D look, but the voice work of the CD-Rom edition was nicely done.
