A4000 cables arrangement

Hello,

my A4000 is getting crowded: CF card, floppy, CDROM.
I don't know how to bend the IDE cables so I won't block a correct air extraction flow from the power supply.

Can anyone show me a good and tidy arrangement of these cables for an optimal airflow?

Oh, by the way: the CDROM should be on the closing end of the IDE cable or either way is ok?

Thanks :-)

... or you can make your own round cables easily

Just use the normal 40wire cables and separate the cables 1-by-1 or 2-by-2. After you finish the separation your cable can be bend as you like and you can either twist it (so it will become round itself) or add a tie-wrap or tape in various locations to shape it as you'd like

Uhm ... that's a useful idea, I'll try! :-)

EDIT: oh and by the way filos, I went to your blog, you did that on your A4000, I'll check your solution carefully! :-)

I had used round IDE cables:

but now HDD is replaced with CF, so there is only floppy cable left.
btw, I don't see much need for CDROM in Amigas.

Me neither but I have a graphic card and the cybergraphx cd-rom for the drivers :-)
Oh well, I think I can dump the CD's content into the CF, maybe it works...

Replace de CD unit for a DVD one.

DVD units are shorter than CD ones and so you'll have more space inside the A4k.

I've gone through the easy way: I've connected the CF to my WinUAE and I am installing the CGX drivers from there :-)
The CD/DVD drive is gone, I changed my mind, Orange is right, no much use for it.

I don't know if it was a bad cable, but i bought a round IDE cable for my PC and it made the computer act very strange, especially when using both a HDD and DVD on the same cable. I wasn't able to burn DVDs etc.
