Tetris Pro v1.5.4 (2019)

Ok, so I've now played "Tetris Pro v1.5.4".

IMHO the older version from 1993 is better; reason being is that the screen is larger and it plays a little faster:

1993:

2019:

Also, when using an "ECS / KS 2.04 / 1MB Chip RAM" config for the 2019 version (which is required); I never got to see any special "grey" blocks... it's only when I changed to an AGA config.

Edit: if people want an .ADF of this 2019 version, it's now in The Zone! Note that you need to use an "ECS / KS 2.04 / 1MB Chip RAM" config and upwards...

Where are you getting that information from exactly?

Aminet - Tetris Pro v1.5.4

...unless you're talking about a different version?

It's like getting blood out of a stone with you sometimes Aladin...

Ok then, links please... and what's the difference between what I've posted and you've said is not the correct version?

Then it's a newer, different version isn't it

...and the one that we were supposedly discussing in this thread: Best Game of 2019 ;-)

Not something that was released in 1998

I don't see any "Tetris Pro v1.5.4" by "Illusion Software" released in 2019 listed there... only "Tetris Pro 1.4" by "Illusion Software" released in 1998

That's great, please don't bother; I don't care one bit about a version released in 1998... it's now been updated hasn't it?

Plus that's not what we are talking about in this thread; or the Best Game of 2019 ;-) thread i.e. where this whole messed up conversation started...

See my post above yours

ok

I just thought that the update v1.5 compared to v1.4 did not justify the qualifying new game, Sorry for the inconvenience

I'll try to stop myself from writing when I want to discuss. not obvious that i can do it but i will try

It's not about me being right... I'm quite ok with being proven wrong

It's about you spreading unjustified / misinformation; that for some reason, I have to jump through hurdles / research to prove incorrect; as you don't believe others when they pull you up on what you've said

Nobody is suggesting that you do that. Everyone is welcome to post on EAB and discuss anything

...but please do try to get your information correct; especially after derailing another thread.

Just as a side note; I should probably point out that the information on http://obligement.free.fr/articles/listejeuxamiga.php is incorrect it seems...

The version released back in "1993" is as follows, please note the "v1.5": Tetris Pro v1.5 (1993)(2KAD - Logic Systems)(PD).adf

How something then updated in 1998 can then be "v1.4" is a mystery to me; it should probably be "v1.5.3" from what you say the old Aminet archive was?

...but, the above website is your "reliable" source no?

I think that two different game, one in Amos and one in asm. When I look the readme for each game, different author, different country ...

The new 2019 aminet is the update of 1998 version, not 1993

The 1993 release has nothing to do with this update, both are different games with the same name. 2000 A.D./Logic System version is 100% asm, this one is AMOS. Besides, the author of v1.5 himself writes he updated his own game after 21 years.

Thanks Sting, that makes more sense.

So in the Best Game of 2019 ;-) thread, this game entry should be renamed to "Tetris Pro v1.5.4 (Illusion Software)".
