New 1mb chipmem board with RTC for a500+

Hi All,

Just like to show you my new addition to my collection.

it is a 1MB chipmem expansion board for the Amiga 500+, It will allow your A500+ to have 2MB of chipmem. The board has a RTC circuit that can be enabled on your a500+ by placing a solder blob on the a500+ motherboard (JP9 as shown by picture.

The board will work on other Amigas and will show 512K fastmem unless your A500 rev6 has been modded to reflect chipmem instead of fastmem.

Very nice. You're slowly turning into a major Amiga HW provider.

Trying not to go too far off topic but did you consider an optional GARY adapter so you could use the other 512K on older A500's? Would that be practical?

It's not quite like that..

Yaqube explains it well:
http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=631266&postcount=4

The Gary board needs to sniff out the c00000 accesses and then toggles a circuit on the trapdoor board (a wire goes between them) that selects which bank of RAM gets the CAS from the trapdoor slot. RAS is always shared, _exram should be enabled.

Nice new addition kipper, did you see my msg before shipping my ide board ? (I saw you printed the label).

If you have a spare plcc i will transfer you some $ for a spare one to use with testing code with the board if you tell me how much it is. No problem if its already shipped i will just grab one off ebay.

In any case great there is a new source for memory expansions. Great work.

Btw is the 4 kickstart switcher off the cards and your only doing production runs of the 2?

I had already mailed off all my orders (everyones paid orders have been mailed). Are you going to take a look at the source to try to free up $400000 for AR3 ?

i can take a look at the a2000, i always got the impression that most people who had the a2000 were rich and had lots of RAM so demand might not be that high. The RTC circuit can still remain, i would imagine there is a jumper to disable the mobo RTC should the need arise due to corrosion etc

Yep.. I will have crack at it... I'm hoping it will be as easy as disabling the ram access for that memory section with auto config disabled. Then i can try getting the 3 allocation auto config going.

If you can email it (code) to my paypal address that would be great.
