You can dump disks using what they now call KryoFlux FREE, their old Amiga-based software. So no need for any extra hardware.

Another disk list/catalogue is on "List.adf" in part 54. By Starcom of Twins it says in the startup-sequence.

In part 56, another not-obvious-from-the-names disk set: Phonepak 2.0.adf, Messages 1 lha.adf, Messages 2 lha.adf

thats shows their dedication to the amiga preservation they claim to follow...

#1) using their free version makes no sense too. you still have to wait years to get a verified/processed
sps image and you are _not allowed_ to share it.

absolutely useless.

I have a question about the "cleaned" archives.
I think I read someone else is cleaning them and submitting so maybe you can't answer.

Are *ALL* the files due for a cleaning or are there any that do not require cleaning? I ask because the cleaned files seem scattered about. I have been unsuccessful in getting virusZ installed in a winUAE config and on my real Amiga with ApolloOS, I don't understand the software enough to clean it effectively. Mainly due to the boot block replacement stuff.

So I've kind of been sitting on the sidelines with this waiting for all archives to be "cleaned". Perhaps add a *No CLeaning Needed.txt* file next to the archives that don't need cleaning so we know?

We don't check what we image ... so I am certainly not going to say cleaning is not needed. But yes if all goes well every pack will pop up sooner or later, renamed, checked and whatever is needed to keep things running. But if you have a virusscanner on your workbench for those non-bootable disks I don't see much harm happening if you use the not cleaned packs ?

And since those are not protected disks, it's overly long to dump all of them with this tool.

I'm just wondering if there are any packs there were checked and did not need any cleaning - are you still creating a *cleaned* version for those?

Yeah, I'm sure I can clean the non-bootable ones myself if needed but I'm just paranoid about getting infected on my HDD. I'm certainly not booting off any of these yet (will wait for cleaned versions of the bootable adfs).

I wouldn't have to worry if I could just get this working on winUAE - Perhaps I'll try running ApolloOS in winUAE to see if it works.

I fail to understand why you want ApolloOS in winuae to check this out ? This is mainly from the A500 - kick 1.3 / kick 2.x era . So emulate a kick 1.3 A500 with simple hard drive partition containing workbench 1.3 and maybe one with 2.x for the applications if that does interest you and you are good to go.

I simply wanted a winUAE WB with virusX installed and working. I wouldn't mind doing my own "cleaning" is all.

with Amiga OS 2.04 or better you should try VirusZ.
it should give better results than the old (!?) VirusX.

install the packs listed in the VirusZ readme (xvslibrary , ...)

This is great!
I need to get my teeth stuck into the downloads. Just out curiosity it's unlikely but has anyone come across any 17 bit pd stuff?

Cheers

found the following, which does match "17*bit" - just get the content text files first,
concatenate them and do some search
Code:
BS1 part 18.txt:17bitpd disc 284.adf
BS1 part 20.txt:17bit update 4.adf
BS1 part 5.txt:17 Bit Instructions.adf
#1) #58: there is Interruptor v2.0.adf - disassembler / debugger for ks1.2 and 1.3
Interruptor v3.2.adf om #57

Track 24 seems to be the little/big brother of Studio 24

#2) #57: Cinelink - some sort of graphics util I never heard about,
belongs to Imagelink from same company - install script is looking for that.

#3) #57: Amiga Sound Library v1.51.adf
another midi synthesizer tool, Dx7 D50 and a lot more.
bit unstable, but never seen before

Always great to see it actually brings things nowhere to be found before.
